According to Soja, E. (2011, 681), Modernization has been a very crucial factor in all countries. Each and every country has different ways through which they do to facilitate improvement in their cities. Early capitalist cities had ways through which they participated in the improvement of their urban centers. The factories, low-class citizens, unemployed employees, and immigrants were closely put in a close surrounding. (2006, 2), political, economic and social factors played a pivotal role in the development of these cities. There were six different types of cities: global, multi-functional, political, ex-imperial, provincial and former cities. As for former capitals, they still perform roles of cities. Political factor is one major aspect which leads to urbanization and growth of these cities.
