Among them is Stephen Hawking who defied all odds in the environment surrounding him to come up with creative ideas contributing to the field of cosmology and physics. His works have aroused heated debate and have been a valuable resource for people who desire to learn more about space. Creativity in Psychology Defining creativity is a hard task as creativity varies from one situation and environment to the other. Environment, inherent personal characteristics, and motivation are some of the main factors that determine how creative a person will be in life. According to the American Psychological Association, there are two types of creativity that a person can have; the “little-C” and “big-C” creativity (Tanggaard, 2015). Dikran Tahta, a mathematics teacher, was the one who inspired Hawking to have a love for higher mathematics (Gribbin &White, 2016).

Even though many of the teachers that taught him were complaining of him not being challenged by the ordinary coursework they were able to note that he was an extraordinary student who was creative in everything that he did and he had the ability to think outside the box. The love that hawking had for mathematics gave him a platform through which he could express thoughts that were complex to many, but they came naturally to him. In his way of thinking, he was always ahead of his peer due to the creativity in thinking that he always portrayed in class. It is through this motivation that he was able to move on as his life momentarily had been shaken by the news of the incurable ALS condition that he had within him.

The world could have missed his terrific discoveries in the field of cosmology had he not been motivated by the engagement to Wilde. Medication that he received from doctors also served to assist him to be able to stabilize his condition so that he could have been able to devote more time into pursuing his studies. He came up with the concept of radiation against what people knew that the pulling force near the black hole was caused by the great gravitational force near the hole. His desire to explore extraterrestrial life was portrayed by the love he had for visiting space which was fulfilled when in 2007 he was sponsored to a trial flight by Richard Branson of Virgin Atlantic to space.

Lastly, another work that portrays his creativity in life was his stand about the existence of God. After conducting a lot of research, he came to a point where he believed that the whole universe was guided by the principles and laws of science and not by a high order and Supreme Being known as God (Godrick, 2015).
