This paper entails a case study on the renewable energy industry in California and describes the key aspects such as the background, central issues, and conclusions on the case at hand. Background and context of the case study California is one of the States in the United States of America that has high regards for renewable sources of energy (Mormann, Reicher & Hanna, 2016). The choice of California for this case study is based on the fact that it is a model state for the implementation of varied renewable energy sources and can be used as an example when looking at how best to implement any program that is meant to promote the usage of this type of energy source. The energy sector in the State has undergone tremendous changes for some time.

California has vast resources and is well known for numerous programs and initiatives that support renewable energy sources. The State also has its Public Utilities Commission that funds self-generation initiatives for both individuals and corporations. There are several other programs that the California State has launched in order to promote the production and usage of renewable energy sources (Jones & Mayfield, 2016). As a result of the many programs and strategies to promote the usage of the renewable energy sources, the utilization of the green energy has grown in the nation and contributes to more than 20% of the State’s electricity mix. That is expected to by more than 30% by the year 2020. That indicates a lot of success in the California State’s government green energy initiative.

That calls for an improvement in the education concerning the production and usage of renewable energy sources. In order to promote the renewable energy industry, these issues, together with others, have to be taken care of by the stakeholders in the sector (Woo et al, 2016). Deductions in relation to environmental law There are different environmental laws in California. These laws seek to ensure there is the prevention of various forms of pollution in the Country. One of the ways through which the environment gets polluted is through the introduction of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
