Today, a significant number of such individuals are constantly relying on parental homes or tend to spend a little bit more stay time in PRS. Literature Review Studies indicate that the contemporary society is characterized by having a majority of poor people residing in permanent shelters to reduce the state of homelessness. Those who lack such shelters have therefore been forced to reside in the city streets for as long as they likely obtain any form of housing services. Giddens (1997) attempts to critically analyze the situation by stating, “Like poverty, homelessness isn't as easy to define as we might imagine. As such, social housing schemes have since been introduced in different parts of the world to address poverty-related issues affecting the young population such as financial exclusion, unemployment, and debt.

Homeownership among Young People By the year 2008, more and more young people were able to enter into the homeownership regime. Although this was the case, over 2. 9 million (majority) of the group opted to remain in their family homes in their twenties up until their early thirties so that they would be able to save adequate capital to be used as mortgage deposit. Popular studies indicate how the private sector has “strongly advocated a greater provision of shared accommodation in response to changes in housing benefit that restrict payments to young people under 35 to the rate of a single room in shared accommodation” (Beharie, 2017).

The questionnaire was tailored in a way that would best ensure that relevant information regarding the welfare of the young tenants would be adequately highlighted. The questionnaires were both close-ended and open-ended to allow the respondents would be able to share their experiences openly (Krugman, 2010). The qualitative and quantitative data obtained was then analyzed to come up with deductions. The theme of the study was “social change. ” Since the study was mostly inclined to understand how the housing services provided by Gentoo had changed the lives of the young individuals, the researcher was able to inquire some of how the respondents had benefited. Although a significant number of individuals were satisfied with the services issued by Gentoo, one of the residents confirmed that the services had been unsatisfactory. This is essential as it is likely to reduce the number of homeless people in the city streets (Beharie, 2017). The study also recommends for the government to ensure that all young people gain adequate access to education and employment opportunities. This essential as it is likely to allow young individuals to gain relevant skills likely to guarantee them jobs so that they may earn an income (Howe, 2018).

The private sector should work hand-in-hand with philanthropists to come up with initiatives aimed at allowing young people to obtain sufficient housing services. This may be effected through active collaboration and grant-making (Boggiano, 2017). This goes to show that Gentoo is focused towards ensuring that the needs of the young children in question are sufficiently catered for in due time. Unlike most organizations, Gentoo attempts to prioritize the young individuals’ interests before its own. This is showcased by the manner in which it focused on allowing the young group to discuss critical issues with them as a way of guiding them to become even better people than they were when they were homeless. This may be confirmed by how the company has been able to attain third-party acknowledgment based on its actions.

It is therefore paradoxical for the organization to refer to itself as a charitable one because it often gets financial returns for issuing out its services to its customers. The government, on the other hand, has worked hand-in-hand with the private housing sector towards issuing them with incentives and subsidies to enable them to set more housing units to accommodate the ever-growing number of homeless youths.
