The increasing growth in employment opportunities is driven by technologies advancement which allows countless health problems to be diagnosed (Auerbach, 2015). In addition, there are numerous job openings to replace experienced nurses who leave the occupation. Research suggests that nursing employment opportunities grow by 5percent every year. Nursing employment opportunities are expected to grow by over 16%. Entry levels jobs require experience of (1-2) years and salaries range from $ 30,000 to 50,000 while mid-level jobs require over 3 years of experience and their salaries range from $60,000 to $ 500,000 (Muench, 2015). Advanced opportunities There are other advancement job opportunities which require over ten years of experience and they pay handsomely (Auerbach, 2015). These opportunities are quite demanding and require expertise, knowledge, and skills to deal with multifaceted ethical dilemmas. Registered nurses who specialize in work setting or type of treatment such as specialty, surgery and medical nurses are more likely to apply for advanced opportunities.

They perform various elementary nursing functions (Auerbach, 2015). Participating in such professional activities offers students an opportunity to communicate and network with numerous nursing notables and colleagues. A member of the Association also represents nurses in different areas. The benefits derived from being a member are worth the membership costs. To become a member of Florida Nurse Student Association students are required to pay $40 membership fee and a renewal fee of $ 30 (Cate, 2015). The membership and renewal fee is designed to augment educational experiences for nurse student as well as provide opportunities across the state. This helps them keep their licenses, certificates current. In the nursing profession, the minimum number of CEU’s required varies depending on State. Universities and various associations have been authorized to offer CEU awards.

For instance, Florida School Nurses Association has been accredited to offer such awards. There are various ways in which members of professional organizations gain and earn continuing education units. They usually receive 0. 25 professional credits. Continuing education requirements inspire professionals to expand foundations of their skills and knowledge. The nursing field is ever changing and nurses are able to stay updated on new developments and emerging issues in the nursing practice.
