Over the years it has turned to be the leading researched subject in the field of behavioral sciences in which various school of thought, as well as researchers, have emerged with the intention having a clear understanding of what leadership is or make a leader to be successful. This is because leadership is considered one of the major crucial ingredient of success. According to the article an interaction in original by Niraj Kr. Chaturvedi the fate of every organization is determined by how effective the behavior of the leader is. There exists an important distinction between leadership and management. The review starts by developing the four frame model as it have been presented by most of the articles as a model which facilitates a comprehensive and manageable approach to various organizational complexity.

It then looks at how having appropriate leadership skills and applying the right leadership style can assist in conducting effective leadership. This review also explores the ways that these skills have assisted leaders expand understandings of intervention strategy, planned change and organization development. The purpose of this literature review is meant to enable leaders in organizations apply theory and advice, identify appropriate leadership skills and be able to decide the best leadership style. Themes One of the themes presented in these articles is viewing organizations in terms of political dynamics, structural frame, human resource issues and symbolic concerns so that leadership can be successful. Differentiation of tasks and work roles in an organization provide clarity and make it easy for leaders to manage the organization. However, differentiation also brings the need of having an appropriate integration and coordination mechanisms.

Human resource frame shows the symbiotic relationship between the employees and the organization. John Markoff in his article Apple’s visionary redefined digital age reports that every employee need an opportunity to portray his or her skills and talents while the organization requires human energy to enable them achieve their objectives (Markoff, 2011). With the presence of a relationship between the two managers are able to carry out their roles smoothly. Leaders in organizations are always faced with the challenges that require quick and informed decision making. Employees also tend to look for answers in work-related issues from their leaders and therefore having the ability to decide on what is right or wrong is good for the employees. Similarly, self-confidence among any leader has also been reported by an article titled the power of reframing as an essential leadership trait.

Organizations need a leader who is willing to make tough decisions even in time of crisis. John Markoff, argues that the level of self-confidence among leaders increases when they encounter crises that need to be solved while many factors remain uncertain. In considering what the best style of leadership is, a leader in any organization should consider factors such as the objective of the organization, activity that the organization is involved in, the culture of the organization, and employee diversity (Markoff, 2011). Analysis and synthesize of strength and weakness The four frames models obtain their power from the fact that leadership in many organizations are complex and messy due to lack of experience, conflicts and lack of appropriate skills. Organizations operate simultaneously on all these 4 levels all the time and special attention is required to address any problem that may occur in one area while still maintaining the needed functioning in other areas.

Leaders need to be a strong architect of rules, roles, formal practices, policies, coordinating mechanisms, technologies, environmental linkages that can effectively channel human talents and resources into productive results that support the main organizational goals (Markoff, 2011). In addition, organization must also deal with the complexity that comes with the human nature through facilitating relationship in the workplace that fosters and motivates high levels of productivity and satisfaction. This is because every leadership style has its areas of that it can be effectively applied and areas of limitations. These articles also present a huge difference in the way they present their themes. While an article like the power of reframing uses the personal examples to portray an example of effective leadership authors such as Niraj Kr. These case studies present scenarios of leadership in the organization and how employees in an organization can operate effectively as well as different working conditions. The human resource frame assists to understand people as well as their relationships. Individuals have feelings, fear, needs, skills, prejudices, and development of opportunities. Knowing this help a leader focus on how individuals and the organization may relate to ensuring each of them is satisfied and acquire their wants. By fulfilling the people need they are able to provide labor to the organization when they are motivated hence increasing the level of production.
