This can only be possible if the organization understands the factors affecting the operation and the future risk on the current and the future strategy. Leaders will thus motivate the employees to adapt to the new change and achieve the desired goals in the company by explaining what is expected to be done in given situations. Kurt Lewin and John Kotter came up with two models describing how leaders in the organization can implement the various changes in the organization. Kurt Lewin’s Model of Change Lewin’s believe that successful change in the organization can be can only be achieved through three steps which are unfreezing, changing and freezing. Through this, the leader will be able to build a new structure from the previous one. However, this can only be possible after considering the pros and cons of the new change. Change Lewin called this second stage transition since according to him, change does not occur at once but rather it is a process which is continuous. This stage can only be achieved if the first process has been achieved. Here, more experience and training is required by the employees to bring the real change required in the organization. In this step, potential threats and their repercussions are identified. The solution to these threats is identified and communicated effectively to the employees. The company identifies the opportunities that can be exploited through effective intervention (Baldoni, 2013).

Acknowledging individuals that took part in the changing process by the leaders will help the other employees to realize that change is indeed taking place in the company and this will help the staff to continue supporting the change. Build on the change Many organizations do not achieve the real change since their success is declared a bit earlier than normal. According to Kotter, the change should be sustained, and the organization should keep on improving the various factors until the real change is achieved at the end of the day. The organization should be sure that change has indeed taken place after multiple successes. A leader should declare the changes after a long-term success. A leader should, therefore, have skills to help in preventing a crisis in the company.
