Despite being aware of the importance of lifestyle directed therapy, physicians and nurses often ignore making a follow up on their patients and instead focus more on medical treatment. The most recent studies have revealed that lifestyle therapy is highly effective for obese women experiencing an ovulation. It is also important for men and children (Kuchenbecker & Hoek, 2015). Lifestyle therapy provided to obese women experiencing an ovulation increases their chances of resuming ovulation. This is because lifestyle therapy such as physical exercise and monitoring diet contributes to insulin sensitivity (Kuchenbecker & Hoek, 2015). Many people especially young children and teenagers are addicted to fast food making the fast food industry to be the leading cause of obesity in America (Hagobian & Phelan, 2012). This is because they are affordable, accessible and the portion is big.

The weight loss goals attained in return helps to reduce the risk of contracting type 2 diabetes and hypertension. The second non-evidence piece of evidence highlights obesity interventions among families. The author emphasizes that lifestyle intervention that includes keeping a variety of vegetables and fruits in homes and engaging in physical exercise are highly effective in reducing the rate of obesity and the reduction of body weight. The author also mentions that families might find it difficult to stick to lifestyle intervention because of limited access and affordability. Nurses are instructed to evaluate interventions carefully and determine whether they are culturally relevant and sensitive (Straka, 2015). The behavioral therapist will be essential to guide and counsel the patient on adopting behaviors that promote a healthy lifestyle such as aerobics, healthy diet and quitting drugs. The bariatric physician, on the other hand, will be vital to the patient with obesity to manage weight and treat overweight that might result in chronic diseases. One of the barriers that I might encounter in applying evidence to practice changes in the nursing practice setting includes the stigma associated with overweight (Smith, Straker, McManus & Fenner, 2014). This might result in psychological problems making it difficult for an individual with obesity to incorporate lifestyle changes fully. , & Phelan, S.
