The magnitude of opioid abuse has greatly influenced the United State workforce thus influencing the employees of the HR policy member companies. The healthcare concern also affects the family members and the communities of the affected individuals. opioid crises have depicted various devastating consequences which include increasing opioid misuse and overdose. The epidemic has increased the rate of newborn incidences with withdrawal syndrome of drug overuse as a result of drug misuse during pregnancy. Combating opioid abuse requires the HR policy association to compile insights from the members of the association while referring to the policies and strategies that address opioid crises (Arizona Department of Health Services, 2017). The healthcare policies require clinical owners to be physically present in the clinic for about a third of the hours of operation to review the patients’ file for close monitoring of drug prescriptions.

The qualification verification and appropriate licensing of the clinical employees need to be critically reviewed and managed by the clinical owners. Policies are also established to limit prescribing controlled substances with an increase in reporting for on the practitioners’ requirements with the use of KASPER electronic controlled substances monitoring system. According to the healthcare policy on opioids crises, a physician who may fail to comply with the ret laws and regulations may lead to revoking of the license. Policies dictate on pharmacy oversite and the wholesale distributors of the drugs as well as strengthening the effectiveness of database drug prescription system thus increasing the speed of data entry system (American Health Policy Institute, 2017). Most of the United States have passed regulations, laws, and policies that regulate pain management clinics requiring every pain management facility to have a medical director who oversees the clinical operations who basically meet certain legal and professional requirements.

Other states like Florida, Tennessee, West Virginia among others provides restrictions on prescription and dispensing of controlled substances in pain management clinics (Schnell & Currie, 2017). Initiation of improved outcomes on opioid crises involves policy restatement of the current state and recommendation on drug use, misuse, distribution, healthcare frauds among other clinical concerns. Patient’s pain management agreements need to be reviewed in the existing policies, laws, recommendations, and guidelines. The healthcare providers are required to acknowledge the patients for their understanding the potential risks and benefits relating to taking opioid medication. Prescription provided with an emergency department which includes an outline of specific limits on prescription number prescribed written for the patients and the number of days a patient can be prescribed for and the MME limits.

For instance, Governor Doug Ducey employed executive initial opioid prescriptions for members of AHCCCS for a period of seven days and the state employees as well as their families, introducing them to health insurance plan which went into effect until 2017 (Ricker, 2017). The local government elected leaders to play a great role in the fight against the opioid epidemic in United State. The data collected from law enforcement agencies indicates that at least one individual in every town in Monroe County is under influence of drug overdose. The town officials are mandated to address the issue of opioid crises to their community in an effort to come with appropriate solutions for the issues.
