The second standard focuses on partnering with the consumer as a way of improving the quality of care which will serve the patients’ needs (Department of Health, 2013). The second standard has been deeply anchored on the philosophy of person-centred care which endeavours to view different individuals involved in the provision of health care as an equal partner in planning, monitoring care and developing to ensure the multiple needs are meet. There exist various avenues which are used in partnering with consumers to ensure that such corporation attains its objectives. Provision of health literacy and partnering with patients in their medical care are some of the conventional approached used by various agencies to improve healthcare. However, provision of health literacy has yielded considerate benefits in consumer partnering. For instance, healthcare professionals are equipped with information regarding various medical ailments; therefore, if there exist the necessary structures, this information can be used to improve overall health.

The health policy environment plays an imperative role in the health literacy since it provides a platform of whereby such information is disseminated. In the light of the above, it essential to analyze the role of health literacy as a way of partnering with the consumers. Importance of Partnering with consumers In the contemporary society, consumer partnering has gained an impetus as the various stakeholders in the medical sector are coming up with various ways of improving service delivery to the patients. The various government agencies have also embraced this idea which is deeply encapsulated in the tent of person-centred care. Therefore, such partnership has immensely impacted on the patient outcomes. A better and improved approach has been used in tackling multiple medical complications. Furthermore, consumers partnering has improved service delivery on the medical facilities Role of Health Literacy Provision of health literacy has taken a notable position in government policies, and medical institutions have embraced this concept which has led to changes in service delivery in the health sector.

According to the Department of Health (2013), there exists a correlation between health literacy and medical outcome in managing of diseases. In particular, Vahdat et al. All the stakeholders need to take their various roles in this endeavour in order to affect the benefits of such initiatives. The health faculties have played the role of offering knowledge and information which is the foundation (Department of Health 2013). The other stakeholder’s such medical facilities, government and other agencies have played a crucial role in developing a platform. The success of such partnership been deeply anchored on each partner playing their part in this initiatives. Application in medical facilities: Individual reflection Consumer partnership has been a subject of focus in hospitals as a means of improving service delivery. Undeniably, staff have implemented the approach of edifying patients with the relevant information to improve service delivery Future Concerns Partnership with the consumer is one of the areas which has been used extensively to improve the quality of service delivery in the medical sectors.

Such initiative entails a holistic approach with each stakeholders playing their various roles. Therefore, the nursing practices should focus on other avenues which hospital can use to improve on such initiatives.
