The traits lead to acceptance of both Christians and non-Christians where it supports cohesive agreements in all the dominions. Through the elections that were conducted in Vatican, it was evident that there are some traits that triggered Pope Francis to be elected having stiff competition. His anti-Hitler’s character traits have made him more popular, loved and accepted by all including the political arena respects his sentiments and seeks advice from him. This paper expands more on three major character traits of Pope Francis as explained by kranes in his book lead with humility. The three characteristics that this paper will cover include charismatic, deal makers and authentic (Krames). Authentic entails being smart and this is what makes him be the perfect truthful man globally.

Another example was seen after his election, he was asked to step up on a spot as a significance of authority in order to greet a thousand of people who had gathered to see hen in St. Peter’s Square. He refused by saying, “I like it down here. ” This shows that he refused to place himself above everyone and signified that he was a humble servant and came to help the humble and the weak in the society. Charismatic This trait is usually seen when leaders are connected with the people. The pope speaks softly and understands what the masses want. This trait makes one become more secure and feels he can be more spontaneous or more aggressive. According to Pope Francis, before he was called to be a pope, he was Bergoglio which meant the Bishop of Slums of Buenos Aires (Rugaragu).

In that place, he used to wash the feet of teenagers who were hooked with cocaine and drank “Mata” which is the Argentineans tea that is usually taken by the poor people. This shows how charismatic the Pope is humbling himself before other minor leaders and respects them though he is believed to be more powerful than them. The pope mindset is shaped by this character. He admitted that he is not perfect and put together an advisory panel called the Vatican 8 or V-8 and to the amusement of many, only one of the advisors comes from Europe. This is an indication that this character is not self-centered and discourages nepotism. Through this trait, I have learned that it is better to give all you have for the betterment of tomorrow’s society and this will help in shaping the morals of the people.

He went to an extent of sitting down with both the Christian and Muslim leaders in Niger and currently there exists peace in Nigeria. He did this in order to show that we are equal and made a deal with them where both religions were on a win –win situation and advocated that people will chose the religion they want to be but not through religious violence. In addition, he is making a deal with the conflicting parties in Syria and statistics says that he will be point of change in Syria and soon people will be able to live their normal lives as they were before (Rugaragu). This character trait has impacted me in leadership especially when trying to make deals.
