These problems that rock the Nike industry emanate from these corporate companies. Since the 1990s, Nike has been criticized for reaping profit from sweatshop labor. Nike bowed to pressure from different human activist groups and embarked on a journey to sanitize its operations and restore a tainted public image. In an effort to do this, the company increased minimum wage, allowed random inspections from Fair Labor Association, and set up independent monitoring systems within the United States (Johanna, 2012). In 2002, It formulated a company’s code of conduct for its affiliate factories, regulated the conditions of operations, and safety requirements for work. Consumers feel involved under the corporate social Responsibility. Employees The Company has been producing a Corporate Social Responsibility Report over the years. The document contains employee’s pay scales and working conditions in corporate factories.

More so, Policies have been formulated which support workers and demand that all affiliate contractors and companies should observe. Nike has equally conducted audits. It is mandated with establishing independent monitoring and a code of conduct that includes minimum employment age. Between 2002 and 2004, six hundred factory audits were performed and repeat visits were made to problematic companies. A list of contract companies together with their addresses was published. Equally, a detailed 108 page report was published revealing the status quo in its companies and acknowledging the setbacks experienced in South Asia (Sandra, 2010). The organization publishes results of its audit in CSR reports. With all stake holders aware of all activities pertaining to companies, the company will not risk in falling into the temptation of undermining the rights of some of employees (Ritupama, 2009).

Equally the government and the relevant institutions will keep a close watch on the company and any slight deviation from the predetermined standards will call for disciplinary measures aimed at restoring sanity. Treating customers fairly Customers are treated fairly by ensuring that the products they consume meet their desired standards. Fairness equally puts into consideration availing all information to customers ranging from production to consumption. Denying customers access to this information is against their rights. Abiding by legal legislations Nike should consider abiding by legal legislation. This will prevent it from finding itself on the wrong side of law. Being at good terms with government and other law enforce agencies creates a conducive environment for the business to thrive. Since these legal legislations are aimed at ensuring that all stakeholders are protected, the organization thrives.

An organization that abides by legal legislative framework enjoys public approval and in turn benefits from a good reputation. This will prevent managerial dockets from hurling blames at each other. For instance ,in the case of Nike, the problems were directed to the publicity docket yet in all the dockets had a hand in the accusations the organization was facing. Nike should clearly spell out the roles and responsibility of each docket to prevent the clash of roles from resurfacing in future. Strong Industry Example- Kentucky Fried Chicken Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is an example to emulate when it comes to public relations.
