Today the radiologic technologists are utilizing the computed tomography to produce several 2D images. Luckily, the technological advancement especially through the improvements in the computer processing abilities, radiography is slowly slipping into the 3D imaging capabilities. A radiologic Technologist engages in an array of activities in the medical field (Smith and Marilyn 629). The medical personnel play a vital role in the administering treatments such as radiation therapy as well as examining diagnostic images. This paper aims at exploring the primary interests that would entice anyone who would wish to pursue a career as a radiologist technologist. Education achievement is one of the apparent requirements when one wishes to pursue a career, as a radiologic technologist. It is the ability to complete an integrated course in the field of radiography.

Majority of the radiologists have earned themselves an associate degree. This does not mean that an associate degree is a minimum requirement (Pratt and Adams 317). One can also assume radiologic technologist position through the completion of either a certificate or even a bachelor’s degree in the same fields. According to a research conducted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics for a period between 2012 and 2013, the number of positions awaiting the radiological technologists seems to be widening in that by 2026, the search for them shall be swift, compared to any other occupation (Pelsoci, and Phillip 03). This is in comparison to the other fields that prefer an associate degree. Nonetheless, the market has better occupational advantages for the radiologists who specialize in an array of diagnostic imaging techniques.

In 2016 alone, more than 241,700 radiologists had secured a position in the general civil workforce. A good number of them worked with the outpatient facilities, diagnostic and medical laboratories, and from the office of the doctors (Pelsoci, and Phillip 04). This profession requires one to capture an image of the patients’ body especially in parts and forward it to the radiologist who then reads between its lines. The experiences gained by the radiologic technologist depend on whether the radiologists have specialized in one field such as bone densitometry or some medical imaging fields. The knowledge gained by the radiographer is enough to assist the oncology departments in providing their patients with radiation therapy. The radiologic technologists affirm that the profession is challenging as well as demanding but still demands career advancements.

The occupation has a significant room for innovation. Radiologic technologists enjoy a reasonable salary range. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Report on Occupational Employment Statistics, a radiologic technologist, especially with a degree in the same field, has an opportunity to start with an annual income of $56,760. The lowest earning population of radiologic population reports receiving a salary of not less than $37,360 every year. On the other hand, the lot of radiologists who achieve the highest level of annual income with just a bachelor’s degree can reach up to $77,760 annual income (Semelka et al.
