The quality of the shot is also affected by skills of the camera operator in operating the camera. The angle selected by the director can affect the quality of the image. The quality of the camera being used by the operator can also affect the images produced. Camera selection is affected by various factors such as cost, physical factors such as the weight, operational features such as the ability to zoom and image performance such as the resolution. The purpose of this essay is to examine the role of the camera and the camera operator in television studio production. I had the capability to design and record a scene with the best shots. After recording the shots, I was required to frame them to get the best final image.

I was also able to select other types of equipment such as the camera cranes and dollies and I was able to appropriately determine which the best camera support to use and when to use it. Some of the cameras supports that I used were the monopod, tripod and tripod dolly. I had the skills of selecting the best camera type depending on the kind of event I was shooting. I was able to do so by selecting the best episodes and also focusing well on the image (Herbert, 2015). It was my role to prepare the audience for different episodes depending on the shots I had taken. In case the camera was faulty, I could check its performance by replaying the shots I had previously taken (Owens, 2015).

Different types of cameras can be used depending on the event being recorded. The major type of cameras used today is the camcorder commonly used in television productions. They have their own light which makes them suitable to access caves even when it is dark. Digital single lens reflex cameras are commonly being used in television productions due to their high-quality shots, low costs, 1080 megapixel sensors, the capability to produce high-quality shots in low light and they are light making it easier to move around (Herbert, 2015). Cameras have various roles in television studio production. They are used to edit the quality of television video and images. Such editing may include zooming. I achieved this by focusing on the subject that I had chosen.

The kind of the shot taken can encourage or discourage the audience whether or not to continue watching the video. Clear images and high-quality video will encourage the audience to watch while unclear images will discourage the viewer from watching. The camera also prepares the audience for a series of events that are about to take place. I achieved this by highlighting the important aspects of the subject that I had shot. He is required to have talent and skills to operate the camera. His posture can affect the quality of the shot. He needs to know that the lens should be close to the eye of the talent while taking an eye level shot. In case of some errors which can occur sometimes, for instance, one camera can block a shot of another camera, the operator can assist the director by suggesting a solution like how the camera angle can be adjusted.

It is, however, important to keep in mind that the cameras can be okay but there may be a problem in the control room. The camera operator's skills about how to zoom can make the images appear closer but to the contrary, less of the scene appears on the image. In addition, the operator can also make the image to appear to be far from the viewer by zooming out hence allowing much of the scene to appear in the image. The camera also plays the role of in focusing on a subject thereby giving more details about the subject. Also, through the different parts of the camera such as the lens, it is important in capturing images that are far from the operator.
