The company has always been providing existing geographical and environmental knowledge to advocate for environmental and geographical preservation. From the case, study it can be seen that since Fahey was appointed the CEO, the NGS has always been declining due to slowed decision making and operating divisions within the organizations, in which a number of departments within the organization have been working independently. This indicates poor coordination and interdepartmental communication which allows proper integration of the general objectives of the company which is a serious internal challenge which causes the gradual decline in the achievement of the company goals. Regardless of Fahey’s focus on updating employees bimonthly, communication remained inconsistent, uncoordinated and was not serve long-term objectives and consequently some employees could not adequately connect with the company objectives.

The consequences included loss of credibility and brand erosion. This has increased competition with other global giants on the same field of content publishing but with more resources. The emergence of the digital strategy necessitated the shift of the organization from delivering its services in the form of magazines and network programming to more technically advanced business platforms. The company is also faced with the problems of being conservative in the old-fashioned ways of doing things which might be attributed to inadequate staff training to the ever-changing organization environment. The company needs to be up to date with the new technological ways of operation adopted by the competitors in order to be able to effectively maintain its loyal customers as well as getting new ones on a competitive basis by providing better services.

The plan therefore is to develop internal unity which will allow a smooth communication environment between employees and consequently this will positively impact customer approach techniques. Communication tactic The strategy that will serve to improve the situation at this point is commitment and consistency of the editorial staff to better advertisement techniques including reciprocity ideas such as offers and discounts to loyal customers.
