Hence, the new policy requires the NFL league personnel to show respect to the national anthem, flag, and the nation. Individuals, including players who break the law would have their teams fined as well as have appropriate disciplinary action taken against them. These actions in the NFL have caught both students’ and the nation’s attention. The change in the policy, regarded as the NFL ban, has resulted in the need for further research on how leadership courses can be incorporated in learning institutions. There is also the need for further research to understand the role played by the leadership courses in schools to various individuals including students. S. Eradication of political controversy within the NFL The NFL ban on the personnel kneeling during the national anthem before games is vital as it seeks to end a political controversy.

Such controversy has in the past, had adverse influences on the professional football and interactions. In the past, there have been issues surrounding the element of kneeling during the national anthem (Breuninger, 2018). The divisive element has shaken the NFL sports for the past two years. Enhances unity for the players The NFL ban is also appropriate because it ensures that players are united and are not divided into political affiliations or politically-based opinions and viewpoints. Without the ban, some NFL players would use the element of reciting the national anthem before the games as a channel to present their political grievances to the government (Breuninger, 2018). This would not be received well by other players who may belong to a different political divide.

This means that implementing the NFL ban and require that all players in the field should stand during the national anthem would eradicate the potential presence of political divisions among the players (Futterman & Mather, 2018). Hence, it would mean that the players are united towards achieving the common goal for their teams. Since the kneeling of the players during the national anthem would have an adverse impact on the NFL’s operations, it is important to implement the NFL ban. The ban does not violate the players’ union to bargain in good faith. Jennings (2017), demonstrates that after Colin Kaepernick knelt during the national anthem before a game, it set the beginning of a movement which divided the nation. Hence, the NFL ban would serve as an appropriate mechanism to prevent further division in the country.

Eliminates using the NFL as a political platform The ban is also vital because it eradicates illustration of the players’ protests in the inappropriate place. According to DeWitt (2014), leadership development is essential for businesses to which experience rapid growth. It ensures that people have the necessary skills, understanding, and knowledge to formulate sound business decisions in the competitive business environment. Failure to have the skills needed in leadership development means that individuals may not educate oneself about the significant ramifications of growing success. Hence, it could result in loss of clients and employees which are substantial variables which lead to business failure. Leadership development is necessary because it enables people to explore various elements which are vital to the success of a business (DeWitt, 2014).

Allowing employees to participate in decision-making processes makes them more engaged and motivated to achieve business success and effectiveness. By providing leadership training to employees, organizations ensure that they can retain high performing employees with significant potentials (Staff, 2017). Given that the modern organizations face numerous challenges, these issues can be mitigated by training employees to achieve leadership skills at different levels. The best managers focus on developing more leadership so that each leadership potential expands significantly. Acquisition of fundamentals of leadership training Leadership training is vital because it enables individuals to acquire the fundamentals of leadership training (Staff, 2017). Leadership courses in schools would also help people to acquire the rules of exceptional leadership. Communication skills ensure that people can communicate effectively eradicating all obstacles which may hinder the proper flow of information. As a leader, a person needs to learn how to use communication skills to streamline activities within organizations and with other organizational stakeholders. The courses also educate people on the leadership attributes of empathy and emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is useful for leaders when dealing with challenging and unpleasant circumstances such as conflicts, vital conversations, and undertaking annual performance reviews.

Possessing a high level of emotional intelligence enable leaders to deal with such occurrences effectively and objectively without disregarding the underlying aspects (Rihal, 2017). This way, the course would teach the importance of having a committed team which offers a different evaluation of challenging tasks and makes the right call. Effective leadership in organizations Schools should encourage leadership courses in their curriculum to enable the administrators to lead effectively and educate the students on leadership aspects. For instance, a Master of Science (MSE) in Education in Educational Leadership assists educators in attaining leadership skills and forging such skills into the students who apply them in different political and institutional perspectives. This is because such classes inform individuals on the need of leaders to take responsibility for cultural change. This is based on the element that leaders should have comprehensive leadership skills rather than focusing on higher standards. Further, Fullan (2002), acknowledges that intelligent leaders and leaders who pay attention to emotional intelligence elements are crucial for their organizations in times of crisis. Leadership courses transform people positively by educating them on the essential framework of leadership such as the moral purpose of leadership, relationship building, the creation of knowledge, formulation of coherence, and knowledge sharing (Fullan, 2002).
