In the end, the audience is aware that the study on the role of hospice is going to focus on the children who are dependent on life support. Abstract The summary presented by the abstract is also concise and coherent because it gives the aims as being the use of step-down care in helping the change from hospital to home. It then gives the background as based on the increased number of children who depend on assisted ventilation has increased. Consequently, the use of hospice to help in the transition process of this child from the hospital environment to the home environment is crucial and that is what the study is examining (Price, McCloskey & Brazil, 2017). The abstract then gives the design intended to be used in the study as a qualitative study using an inductive, semantic analytic approach within a realist epistemology.

As such, there is a need to examine how much impact hospice may have on such children and their families. Another factor that has been noted in this study by Prince et al, is that the study is very relevant to nursing as a practice. The reason for this perspective is because nursing is about ensuring that patient get well and that return to hospitals is reduced. Therefore, the study presents a problem that is relevant in the field of nursing. Based on this argument it is therefore clear that there is a connection between the problem as presented and the paradigms on the other hand; paradigms such as the role of a nurse in ensuring quality care. Furthermore, it illuminates that the research has considered the literature of other scholars to support and confirm their opinions and ideas as presented in the study.

Moreover, the researchers have further used the literature review as the point at which they compare and contrast their approach with the approaches of the other scholars. This approach is necessary since an effective research is a research that also looks at the other scholar’s critic of the approach they have taken and evaluates these approaches. Methods The researcher has clearly indicated that there was confidentiality when using the medical records of the participants and further the participants were allowed to sign a consent form. Further, to secure the research participants’ needs, minimizing their risks, confidentiality was the approach used. ” (Price, McCloskey & Brazil, 2017 pp. The sample under study can be considered to have been enough to apply for this kind of study since it covered the most relevant scope of the study are was desired by the researchers.

Finally, during the interview, in order to collect data, interviews, and records were used to collect the necessary information. The hospital medical records were used to identify the parents in order to request them to participate in the study. The interviews were, on the other hand, used to examine the parent’s experiences. For instance, the researcher found out that most parents were very much comfortable and pleased with the hospice staff. This is an indicator that the proposed step-down-care in infants’ hospice can be used to solve the cases of challenges where parents are transitioning from hospital to home with their children who are terminally ill (Price, McCloskey & Brazil, 2017). Further, the discussion has further illuminated that the hospice environment was very helpful and parents were able to learn gradually and effectively.
