A goal can be made more specific by defining tasks supposed to be complete by the students within the learning frame; this is made possible through the creation of measurable assessment techniques to quantify success or failure of the goals in learning. The level of commitment of a student towards the learning objective is determined by the compliance of a learner with the teaching schemes parameter (Ryan, 2012). External factor also tends to influence the success as it enhances the presence of role models for learners that will act as a stimulating agent for learners to put more effort into their own work and goals. A goal is therefore important for it helps students to focus on his or her efforts in a specified direction.

Studies show that the more likely they will be stimulated and interested in accepting learning and succeeding in the prescribed educational goals from the learning outcomes motivate the more students. Another approach is either by embedding goal setting within the faculty program offered or by exploring diverse options of making the student core of the programs. Activities for theory-based goals Students need proper engagement on the right geared activities that will enhance equipping them with the spirit of goal setting and contribute to the overall success of the set learning objectives. Taking the English language as our case study, the students should put emphasis on the following learning activities to propel the goal-setting theory. Speaking more English, watching English TV films and programs, learning more words that are English.

However to get the students to fully set goals for themselves the following question oriented measures need to be employed: What they really want to achieve? The teacher will offer proper guidelines to students in proper goals setting as students have a tendency of having a mismatched priority in selection of their goals which leads them to failures. The achievement theory The theory advocates that the student nature and fear for failure makes him/her to willingly work extra hard within the prescribed set goals to avoid failing and consequently achieve the desired success in his classwork. It eliminates the stimulation correspondence of the teacher towards overall success of the student. Success of this theory depends on three factors that is responsibility of the students in solving problems and challenges presented to them, equalization of opportunities to students from teachers and the feedback mechanism.

Motivation theory The main problem and impedance of diverse English teacher’s minds is the question why some of the students have a strong desire for learning whereas having zero if no desire for learning. Motivation actually is a key factor for efficient learning in schools setups; some educational pundits see it as a vital element for successful learning of any subject Lack of sufficient motivation leads to a challenge in long-term satisfaction of goals. This type of motivation emphasizes on external token of appreciation such as one is bribed to be motivated to do an activity. The bribes may include time, money, praise or earning of points. The motivation is applicable where there is a provision of external incentives, as they help to detach the student from the task (Leone, 2010).

This type of motivation is founded on the determination of two contending wants. The desire to realize victory as well as fear of failure. In order to develop this type of motivation, the following means should be provided; Students need to have the curiosity that will help them be concerned with solving the discrepancies that they may have possibly encountered before. Intrinsic motivation can be practiced or implemented in teaching through the following ways: Challenge It will involve introduction of some kind of difficulty in teaching schedule to enable students juggle with the students mind and enhance some form of achievement and competence among learners. Curiosity Is the process of giving students different tests and experience to arouse their learning interests, this is so as to raise some form of interest’s among students towards learning.

Fantasies Is the process of teaching using real-life scenarios whereby the students are to imagine an item outside the classroom setting and be able to compare it with the classroom work? Control Is an intrinsic motivation technique where the students is given some sense of autonomy towards doing his/her assignments that helps the student achieve some slight feeling of self –determining his/her educational work? Some of the practical Intervention measures and recommendations for Motivation of students in academic learning are as follows; Teacher and parent’s communication in order to share data concerning student's progress. The information would help parents highlight the students' behavior at home on concluding tasks at school. Teachers need to convey high yet realistic goals as per the student’s ability, different student’s exhibit different competence levels.

The teachers should let the learner know that they believe in their abilities. A reminder of students the theory of imperfection The teacher should always remind students that no work is perfect but with persistence, they can achieve excellence with time. Reduce emphasis on social and academic competition Teachers need to encourage students on the need not to compare themselves with other, as each individual is unique in his or her own way.
