Trends in Human Resources Management

In addition to trends that are shaping the human resource such as social media, aging of the workforce, ethnicity and race, we have other trends which include but not limited to globalization and competition, change in government laws on labor and businesses, selection of employees, hiring processes, changes in nature of work, and economic challenges. Globalization and competition have changed the operations of HRM in several ways. Through globalization, most companies tend to spread their branches all over the continent trying to capture new markets. With this, the HRM needs to change with the emerging tasks so as to accommodate the new stakeholders and customers. Changing nature of jobs have greatly affected how HRM works with the employees. Any wrong move in such a position can cause much damage to the company and therefore to be ahead one needs to be a cautious and critical thinker.
