Teams may face a lot of difficulties when working together, but this is normal for any organization or group work. Good team performances and relations should be developed and properly maintained for the teams to work together. To understand how to make effective teams, it is important first to think of those teams that you have participated before. These could be teams at your workplace, in sports, schools or social groups. Then you should ask yourself some questions such as which of the teams that your participated stood to be good, what qualities made the team good according to your understanding, which of the teams you have participated was bad and then lastly what reasons made it difficult. During the early stages of a group, individual members may want to interact with another member of the group or other groups and build relationships.

The second stage of developing an effective team is the control stage. This stage is concerned with authority, power, influence, status and decision making. The key question which is answered in the control stage is how much influence a member can have in a group, and the personal autonomy one should give for him to be a member of such a group. The third stage involved in developing an effective team which happens to be the last one is the affection stage. There are twelve benefits that an organization or any business firm will gain by going through the team developing activities3. Knowing how to work together with other team members effectively helps efficiently in managing strengths and weaknesses of one other in a group. Good communication is another benefit that plays a very important role in any high performing team. Team development helps to break barriers to communication and how to make use of the verbal and non-verbal communication forms. These learning enhances the deeper relationship and also trust among team members5. Morale is another benefit gained when going through team development activities. A team which is positive and enthusiastic helps to boost morale in the workplace. Team building activities can be used to identify barriers to enthusiastic morale and highlight the procedure of creating more fun in day to day activities of the team.

Another benefit guaranteed is respect. The goals should be clearly understood the goal. This helps all the employees to work towards the different goals. It helps the employees to realize that the management values them hence putting more efforts to attain the company’s goal6. Likewise, accepting and implementing the ideas from the employees even if they are the ones from the lower level. This improves the company because every employee thinks that the inputs they put towards the company are much valued. It enables the employees to trust the company’s leadership since they allow them to work on their own to come up with new ideas. Avoid gossiping among employees. Gossips reduce trust between two parties completely. Once an employee notices that they are being gossiped they lack trust with the management completely and also this leads to poor performance.

Trusting employees on their duties they perform helps them to work more freely without pressure which enables them to perform their duties to the best. It gives the employees a lot of trusts to perform their duties since whatever they are doing they know is right9. The role of communication in developing effective team working A team is a group of people who have a common goal to achieve within a given period of time. In every team, communication is very important for the effective performance. It is always important to clarify the message received by the receiver is the one from the sender. In technology, the information is decoded so that it can only be received by the recipient. Information can be altered and, in any case, it has altered the receiver will detect and notify the sender11. Feedback is very highly appreciated since it confirms that the content received is correct and also complete. whereby, a team is a group of individuals who have a mutual goal. Members of the group are committed to the goals of the group and work hard to find the best way to achieve their goals. For example, People Puddle is a group while the Fishing Nets are teams. Team members have an agenda and will always work hard in order to achieve the goal which they have in the group.

While in the group there are no goals which help individuals to run their duties. How a manager could benefit from knowing team members’ preferred roles as defined in an established team role model. Dr. Meredith Belbin analyzed team-work for several years, and he well detected that individuals in teams have a habit of adopting dissimilar "team roles. " He explained a team role as "a tendency to perform, give and connect with others in a specific method" and he also managed to name nine roles which help in the success of the team. Ideally, managers will always benefit from knowing the preferred role of a particular member this is because the employee will perform his or her best since they will that’s the best field they are in.
