It would be wrong to deny these patients their civil rights on the basis of their mental conditions. For most people, managing money is a challenging task. Educating them about their rights is important in the fight against discrimination. The patients should understand that they can make decisions regarding treatment plans and contribute directly to the entire process (Videbeck, 2013).
