Whole History of America Essay

Some said that human life originated from mud. In 1800’s, scientists discussed on the possibility of a land bridge connecting North America and Asia 1000’s of years ago. This raised attention over the centuries with scientist and naturalists visiting the east cost of America for archaeological sites. The findings of the archaeologists suggested that people never originated from North America; instead they came from different continents. The place and how they arrived is yet to be known- rendering the research as inconclusive. The north America mainly constitutes of people with a European ancestry who are the largest followed by people of asian and african ancestry and finally the latin Americans. Map 2. Central america is recognized for its diversity as it constitutes of people of variety of ancestry, people of different races and difference in ethnic groups. There are countries with Mestizo people, some countries are made up of people from European ancestry while some have both the amerindians and europenas. Cultural Diversity; Culture disparities among the Native Americans were distinctive. It reflected on how small the communities were. Some densely populated areas produced high culture and sparse culture in vast landscapes. America had a wide culture disparities ranging from language in which Indo-European was common. THE AGE OF DISCOVERY It signifies the period when the exploration of overseas became popular. His sailing career began with short fishing trips and later escalated to long merchant trade trips in the Mediterranean Sea as a messenger, common sailor and later as a privateer.

In his twenties, his interest in mapping and Geography made him explore further into the Atlantic Ocean. During this trip, his ship was attacked, robbed and set on fire; he had to swim over six miles to the shore. First Voyage Funded by the Spanish Monarchs, Christopher Columbus embarked on sailing mission with three ships; Santa Maria, Santa Clara and Pinta on 3rd August 1492. He first sailed to the Canary Island where he repaired and resupplied his ships. With him were 17 ships and 1200 men who were to occupy the new territories. In the trip, he discovered Dominica, Guadeloupe, Saint Croix, Saint Martin, Saint Kitts, Saint Eustatius, Nevis, Redonda and Antigua which he claimed on behalf of Spain. On one occasion he visited the 39 men he left behind but all he found was 11 dead bodies and others long gone due to wars.

On 24thand 30th of April, he began exploring the South coast of Cuba. On 5th of May, he discovered Jamaica. His journey to Hispaniola was cut short following denied docking making him sail to Rio Jaina for shelter. When the storm had passed, Columbus sailed to Central America on 30th July. He later discovered and explored Honduras, Costa Rica and Nicaragua for 2 months and left headed to Panama which they explored in December following a heavy storm. The storm was so destructive that he could no longer explore the Cayman Island sighted in May 1503. He docked at St. In 1492, Christopher Columbus and his crew reached America paving way for European exploration and colonization. With time, Western America was dominated by Europeans changing a variety of things and way of life.

It is approximated that roughly 50 million Europeans left for America. THE TRIANGULAR SLAVE TRADE The Triangular Trade was a three-sided voyage between Europe to Africa, Africa to America and finally America back to Europe. African involvements in the captivity of slaves made the trade thrive over the century. More than 10-15 million slaves from Africa were transported to America. The transatlantic trade was the second of the triangular trade. In 1480’s African slaves were being sold by Portuguese to work on sugar plantations. The Portuguese dominated the trade even though the Spanish traders captured slaves for their Caribbean plantations. Over the years, the French and European merchants dominated the trade with the largest number of slave ships (Pickett, 2010). It began with the siege of Boston, in which the British army was prevented from movement by the George Washington military.

In retaliation, British army attacked Lexington and Concord and they were able to seize Bunker Hill despite numerous casualties. The siege ended following a seizure of the high ground Dorchester Heights. The British cannons fires could not reach the Americans thanks to the winter. Their planned assault was futile as a result of a heavy storm. Despite the many changes it brought, many issues were raised regarding this regulation to what was known as Civil Rights Movement of 1960. The reasons for the emancipation proclamation were that most of the northern states saw slavery as a contradiction of their ideologies on revolution. Additionally, most of the slaves did not impact greatly on the economy and there being plenty of white men who were willing to offer their labour, minimised the need for slaves (Tillet, 2012).

The need to eliminate competition in the job market between the slaves and the white men led to the grafting of the emancipation proclamation. WHAT HAPPENED: THE NATIVE AMERICAN The population of the Native Americans was reduced as a result of war, colonization, diseases and European influence. Diseases like small pox, mumps and chicken pox killed lots of them. In estimation, during the arrival of Christopher Columbus, the population of the Native Americans was at 4 million but by the end of 180p, their population had been reduced by over 90%. WHAT HAPPENED: THE BLACKS IN AMERICA To most African Americans, the end of slavery was a transformation from brutality, sexual assault and whipping. The breaking of families, denial of ownership rights and education were among the things they were subjected to.

Today, they celebrate their newly found freedom and rights as other races. AMERICA AS A WORLD POWER America is recognized as a world power in influence of its economic, cultural, political and military dominance. The following are some of the reasons why it is regarded as a world power; first is its developed Military – Today, the US military is recognized as the most powerful, Great Alliances –US is the leader of NATO and has a seat in the Security Council of UN, Economy –US has the world strongest economy with a high GDP finally is the culture–the Hollywood culture and the pop culture is a global phenomenon. AMERICA NOW- PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP Donald Trump is the 45th president of the United States of America following his inauguration on January 2017.

Before succeeding Barrack Obama, Trump was a reality television star and a respected business man with a huge success in hotel and real estates. Campaign promises Donald trump is popular as the candidate without any history of service in political arena. After his meeting with former president Barrack Obama, he appreciated parts of the Obama care plans and acknowledged that repealing the laws regulations on the Obama care would be complicated and difficult. His idea on building a wall between Mexico and America was not abandoned. According to his staffs and advisors, the wall was not likely to occupy the whole border. His review on Supreme Court justices and the repeal of Roe V. Wade is also among the commitments Donald Trump has given priority.
