Sub-competency one This sub-competency stipulates that a DNP nurse should know how to use analytic techniques in appraising of literature as well as other evidence, and be able to implement quality evidence in the nursing practice (AACN, 2006, p. The writer was able to acquire this knowledge in week five and eight where students analyzed different research methodologies used in a research, and also differentiated an original research from a quality improvement research using outcome assessment. The writer learned how to conduct a comprehensive systematic review in week one, and critical appraisal of various research aspects in week two, three, five, and seven. These are important skills in searching for quality evidence. The course program also encouraged the writer to always use high quality literature to deliver care that is evidence-based. Since the DNP nurse is a leader, he or she should use the findings to teach the subordinates about a quality intervention or product they should incorporate. As a result, there will be a positive impact in healthcare outcomes observed.
