Davis Associate Professor of Technology Management Spring, 2018 1. Describe how you would initiate and manage the task from an organizational standpoint within the typical structure of county government. Who would you assemble to be involved within the organization and how would these internal stakeholders be engaged in the process? Task Initiation and Management This section of task initiation and management involves preparation of a plan to that helps in identification and implementation of practical measures for controlling and reducing emissions in the county (Kerzner, & Kerzner, 2017). It includes the activities to be carried out in ensuring that those carbon dioxide emissions are reduced. The areas to be dealt with are as follows; the project objectives, scope, deliverables, an organization of the project, communication strategy, and project controls.

Project controls will be exercised in areas concerning project reporting and the project budget. The continuously written report will be made to the project board through the head of climate change. There will also be printed a monthly report by the project manager and delivered to the head of the climate to provide progress and ascertain whether it is working towards the achievement of the set goals and objectives. The budget for the project is a prepared and continuous review done to determine variances from the budget and corrections made where applicable. Identify significant sources of harmful emissions operated by county government, commercial, and public sources (all three). Energy efficiency and conservation practices help in reducing the amount of carbon dioxide emitted to the atmosphere.

For instance, reduction in power plants ran by fossil fuels results to cut carbon dioxide gas thereby promoting cleaner environment (Liu, & Cirillo, 2016). Use of technology including attains energy efficiency; compact fluorescent bulbs, insulation upgrades, and furnaces which are highly efficient. Secondly is the use carbon free, or energy sources with reduced carbon. Examples are; using solar power, geothermal power, hydropower, wind power, and nuclear power as carbon-free sources of energy (Liu, & Cirillo, 2016). They also include long-term investments, venture capital fund, equity, carbon trust fund, Guarantees, long-term debt, and Sovereign Wealth Fund. The process of Seeking and Obtaining Resources The first step is to determine resource needs for controlling and reducing carbon dioxide emissions after the measures to be put in place for reducing carbon dioxide emissions are identified (Lambe, Jürisoo, & Johnson, 2015).

The cost of investments related to introducing new technologies and improving the condition of existing equipment must be ascertained. It is also vital to establish expenses to be incurred in developing policy, monitoring, costs of collecting data, training, and creating awareness. The second step is to identify domestic sources of resources available to support the project. The last step is to submit the request for support. This will provide an opportunity for receiving support from external sources. External financiers will decide whether to go ahead and grant relief upon receipt of the request. Identify a plan and schedule for a specific project you would propose to address emissions created by county-owned/controlled resources. Identify the source(s) of financial funds to be used to implement the plan and include a discussion of the technology and personnel resources that would be necessary for successful implementation.

It establishes policies to enhance the efficiency of schools and hospitals. Sources of Financial Resources to implement the Plan There are extensive sources of financing that can be considered in addressing the emission of greenhouse gas (Dogan, & Seker, 2016). These include federal grants, Global Environmental Facility Grants, carbon tax cap and trade schemes, World support. They also include long-term investments, venture capital fund, equity, Carbon Trust fund, Guarantees, Long-Term Debt from banks, and Sovereign Wealth Fund. These sources are sought both domestically and externally. G. The role of natural resource professionals in addressing climate change. Climate, 4(3), 38. Dogan, E. , & Seker, F. , Lyon, D.
