This move would lead to over 800000 young immigrants who were protected by DACA to lose their protection on March 20181. With the growing pressure that had mounted on Congress, to protect a population that was brought into the country without their consent, Recognizing America's Children was introduced by Rep Carlos Curbelo, a Florida Representative. This Bill gives direction to a conditional permanent residence to a young immigrant who came into the United State as minors before the age of sixteen years. Conditions for this conditional residency status are; one must have come into the US before his/ her sixteenth birthday with parents who have met the immigration laws. These individuals should also be eligible if they choose to join the military, have joined the high school to get a high school diploma and if are above 19 years they should be enrolled in institutions of higher education or have valid work permits to work in the United States.

This RAC Act has some shortcomings that will lead to many young people being left out. the bill does not provide the young people with any loans that can help them fund their higher education. It also locks out those who attained the conditional permanent resident status by being enlisted in the military and have been relieved of duty due to injury or sickness and have no enough time to join institutions of higher learning or get a work permit. Another shortcoming is that the bill does not provide flexibility by providing a combination of military, higher learning and worker requirements, this may lead to many hardworking youngsters getting locked out of the conditional permanent resident status. PROBLEM STATEMENT Formation of sound and proper immigration policies has been one of the main issues facing Trump's administration.

There are several questions that linger in most Americans minds regarding illegal immigrants, especially those brought into the country as children. Some of these questions are; whether the number of immigrants is reduced, increased or remain the same, how should the US classify the various groups to be allowed into the country in the bases of refugees, families, economic migrants, and qualified personnel. Nearly all Americans favor protection of the Dreamers, this is an indication that most Americans are more tolerant. The division is mostly between Republicans and Republicans. The Trump Administration announced on September 5th, 2017 that it would put to an end, President Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which gives work permit and two-year stay allowance to almost 800,000 youths also known as Dreamers4.

Carlos Curbelo a representative from Florida and is currently having 17 Republican co-sponsors. This bill was introduced in order to bring a solution to the perceived illegal immigration that is currently the most discussed issue in American politics. I think this Bill is fair enough if it the criteria for determining whoever will be granted temporary citizenship are followed strictly. Children are innocent and whatever the crimes of their parents should not be put upon them. POLICY ANALYSIS Recognizing America's Children Act the main purpose is to grant young undocumented immigrants in America conditional permanent resident status for five years which is then renewable for another five years before gaining legal permanent resident status.
