The opening of 2 Samuel 11 verse 1 has no issue, as the beginning of an account logically constitute the start of a new episode. The first division in the script happens in verse 5. This is per hypothesis set out by Bar-Efrat (1989:96) that the characters taking an interest in a story can be utilized to decide the structure. In verse 6, David stays one of the characters, yet Bathsheba has left the scene. In her stead, Uriah turns into the other principle character. As indicated by the setumah in the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, 2 Samuel 11:15, as opposed to 2 Samuel 11:13, was taken by the Masoretes as the finish of the second scene. This might be due to the change in the scene at verse 16. But, the proof of the move in characters, taken in conjunction with the noticeable change in time indicates a division between verse 13 and verse 14.

The shift in subject likewise authenticates this. Toward the end of verse 25, the setumah in the Hebrew content concurs with the division of scenes. • 1 Samuel 8:13. In this verse, the word "take" means to need a certain thing for something to materialize. That is, the king will need daughters of the Israelites to be his perfumers, cooks, and bakers. • 1 Samuel 8:14. In this verse, the word "take" has been used to denote presented with. • 2 Samuel 12:9. The word “taken” in this verse has been used to signify the illegitimate matrimony union between David and Uriah’s wife. • 2 Samuel 12:4: This verse has used the past tense took to denote removing something without permission or consent of the owner. The rich man removed a poor man’s ewe lamb without his permission.

• 1 Samuel 12:13 The word taken has been used to denote forgiveness. He enquired who she was, and the man said that she was Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah. King David went ahead and sent men to get her and slept with her even after knowing that she was Uriah’s wife. She purified herself and went home, and she later sent a message to the king that she had conceived, and King David started scheming on covering his wicked deed (Fontaine,1986). Upon realizing that he would soon his act would be known; since Uriah had been on the battlefield and he could not have fathered the child during that season, he decided to try and manipulate Uriah to sleep with his wife.

First, he sent out for Uriah to come to Jerusalem and upon his arrival, he sent him home and followed by a gift, but Uriah never went home he spent his night at the entrance of the palace. Prophet Nathan told him that he was that rich man who had acted selfishly and ruthlessly. He reminded King David of God’s deliverance from king Saul, how He had blessed him with many wives and His anointing upon him and yet he had forgotten God’s deeds. This shows how human being tends to ignore God's redemption and the decision to disobey commandments out of their lust (Rogers et al. Prophet Nathan went ahead and pronounced judgment over King David, and he told him," the sword would never depart from his house and his wives will be taken in broad daylight.

" This judgment became true in 2nd Samuel 16:22 when Absalom his son pitched a tent and slept with his father's concubines in broad daylight. Once King David realized that his son had died despite his attempts to pray for his salvation by fasting, he rose up took a bath, ate, changed his loins, and he began worshipping. He decided to move on and comfort his wife, and they got another son and called his newborn son Solomon because the Lord loved him. This shows that once believers face challenges that result from their sins they should move on and worship because God has already forgiven their sins if they have prayed for forgiveness (Stuhlmacher, 2003). In 2nd Samuel chapter 7, God had made a covenant with King David to make his name great on the land and to shield him from his enemies.

Later when King David sinned God forgave his sins and spared him from death and instead he took away his son. Once a Christian fall into temptation one should not focus on covering up their sins, but they should focus on seeking forgiveness and confessing their sins. King David fell messed himself more the more he tried to conceal his crimes. This is because God is ready to forgive everyone who confess their sins as stated in 1st John1:9 that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us (Wright, 1983). We also learn that God is gracious to forgive sins, but that does evade us from being punished. Therefore, we should not sin and take advantage of God’s mercies and sin ignorantly.
