The second strategy which involves reading of psychoeducational handouts and treatment manuals as her homework is purposely done to make her aware of the treatment measures to be taken so she can psychologically prepare for the treatment process. It is also an ethical requirement to make the patients aware of the treatment plans before they can accept. Rita has had self-esteem issues that could predispose her to such activities. The fact that she grew up with comments from friends and family members concerning her eating habits which greatly affected her self-esteem can be blamed for the cause and maintenance of the disorder. The fact that she used to mix with other women who we equally preoccupied with the weight and dieting control can also be blamed for the problem. According to DeJesse and Zelman (2013), the treatment of eating disorders should be a collaboration between a nutritionist and a mental health provider partnership. The integrity of the collaboration between the two parties is essential for the effective care of the patients (DeJesse & Zelman, 2013). One of the issues that may be of ethical concern is a failure to agree on certain treatment strategies because of different viewpoints (Latz, 2015).

It is also possible that the proposal by the nutritionist for Rita to follow certain treatment criteria by taking certain foods may not be acceptable to the mental health expert. Such conflicts are likely to compromise the quality of the treatment process and may have negative implications. It is important that the two experts agree on a workout plan on how they will carry out the treatment process (Latz, 2015). They should be able to consult one another on the procedures that should be applied. Following the outlined strategy will help solve the problem in the long run. Various options can be considered for treatment of the eating disorder.
