The company has recorded significant reputation in terms of its product differentiation, consumer interface and market orientation, which is a high record in the Middle East. The Almarai mission statement is “Quality you can understand. We meet every day for a quality dairy product, nutrition and consumer satisfaction with brands that help people feel good, look good and get more out of life. ” (Almarai Company. 2017) Company’s Background Information The corporate was founded in 1977 by Sultan bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Kabeer as a small dairy farm and has expanded gradually to a national wide dairy company (Almarai Company. Since the company launched the bakery segment as a product differentiation strategy, they did not have a clear communication channel that could help the employee and other stakeholders to integrate with the new system of operation.

The organization management mainly causes the poor communication structure currently experienced by the company. Herein, the company does not communicate new changes and strategies to their employees and stakeholders leading to operation confusion and poor transition at the workstation (MAIN, 2017). Conversely, the problem of poor communication experienced by the company has is structured on the top level management where poor communication channels are redirected to the people below the management hierarchy. Why is there a need to change The problem of poor communication channel within the organization has resulted in some severe consequence in the overall company’s management. The bureaucratic system of management used by the company has locked out other people with insignificant influence in the company from taking active communication and decision making which is also the cause of the problem in the organization.

What is the root cause and what are other causes of the problem/issue The root cause of the problem is associated with poor management system where the top officials have developed a cocoon that isolates their engagement with the low ranking employees or officials in the company. The senior management lack commitment in the company strategic implication and this affect the channeling of communication through the organization. The poor communication strategy that exists in the company is also influenced by the lack of proper coordinated channels of operation within the organization that can streamline the process of communication engagement from the management to the lowest employee. That is, the company does not have representatives that can address the need of the low-level officials or members and therefore no clear communication channels downward in the management hierarchy.

Identify a plan to implement the change. In implementing an effective communication plan that is inclusive from the management to the lowest ranking employee is first highlighting the issues and its source. This will help identify the appropriate approach to initiate in solving the problem. Identifying the media of channel is another process of initiating a communication. This involves identifying the key recipient for the communication channel and the appropriate media that the recipient can use such as the use of emails, memos and so on (Van Hove, 2016). Therefore, in case the first plan is not implemented effectively initiating a departmental communication plan can be effective in this case to help boost communication in the departmental level.
