Data governances enable an organization to improve the availability, usability, integrity, and security of the organizational data. When an organization implemented the right technology, data governance can also drive enormous business value and support digital transformation. Data governance is not only about information management in the organization but also, involves supporting business processes and surrounds a large set of data strategies and methods, which are: • Data modification and retrieval • Data integrity which ensures accuracy, veracity, and quality of data in an organization. • Data loss prevention which ensures that important and sensitive data about the organization isn’t sent outside the corporate network and regulating when the data can be transferred within or outside the organization. • Data security which protects data from unauthorized access.

Data governance has the responsibility to ensure data availability and general management of data flow in and outside the organization which ensures that data is located where it is required at the correct time thus improving the operational efficiency of an organization. Several organizations have implemented data governance technologies to ensure the integrity and security of their data is maintained. The organization includes: 1. E-commerce organization like Amazon 2. Healthcare organization Amazon. The challenges of implementing the technology are: • Maintaining reliable backups and being fast and efficient when retrieving data required a lot of time and effort with the old technology. For instance, if there is a hardware failure during the process of backups of data may require a lot of time since it adds up the recovery time objective and makes it difficult to achieving backup.

• Furthermore, the cost of backups with the old technology that is tape require support from various devices. Thus the cost of software was very high and increased the overall backup cost • With the older technology that was implemented, it was very complex for capacity planning and utilization which arose from the fact that the older technology required highly skilled personnel to use the infrastructure and a lot of time spent at setup. With the implementation of Amazon web services according to Hashem, I. • Lastly, Amazon Simple storage services is a cloud-based technology thus working in a distributed environment as in the case of Amazon there is no need of moving from place to place to perform backup or updating data. Therefore, time is greatly reduced as well the cost is eliminated from moving data from one place to another.

The benefits of this technology greatly outweigh the cost in many different aspects from the resources required especially in terms of hardware to the human resource required. Amazon. is the largest e-commerce organization and thus most of its services are distributed are distributed and therefore using technology like Amazon simple storage service greatly reduces the cost of backup and updating data in this distributed environment. R. , & Gamm, (288-294) on his journal the implementation of this technology has several challenges which include: • Lack of common federal standards to implement the Human Information Exchange in the healthcare organization hinders the implementation of this technology. • It very costly to integrate this technology with Electronic Health records because of the lack of common standards for its implementation.

• Also with the rapidly changing technology Human Information Exchange technology it difficult to decide on which product should be used that is a multi-vendor or use a single- sourced option. Furthermore, with the difference in expertise by vendors it is difficult to decide unto which vendor should be chosen since another vendor is better than another in different services.
