The occurrence of a hurricane cannot be prevented since it is a natural disaster. However, people have the option of limiting the effects. In most cases, the people affected are middle class and low income earning communities who lack the ability to construct or live in well-constructed houses (Powell & Magness n. p). This will also give them time to collect emergency supplies to avoid leaving their houses during the hurricane. If the storm comes before evacuating, people should ensure that they are up to date with the news, which will guide them on the way forward. For instance, evacuation routes are offered on media for safe movement.
