Since the question is being posed now I would say that the most significant experience has been dealing with my father who has been ill and hospitalized. It has been a year since my father has been home, due to his many medical issues. I don’t think anyone ever has a plan when things like this happen, but for someone like me that likes to know what comes next this was a very difficult challenge. Not only was I not prepared, but it came at the worst moment. When my father ended up in the hospital I was going through some medical issues of my own and still trying to work and do school. On weekdays if I go see him my whole day is occupied between work and visiting him therefore, it’s been difficult to find balance.

I briefly shared the reasons why wellbeing to me is a state of health and overall contentment with life. How This Relates To My Own Experience After researching Berkeley and the World Health Organizations’ wellbeing definition I am surprised about how little I understood wellbeing. In my definition, I used indicators such as healthy life style and contentment of life which are a part of the ten indicators Berkeley wellness test identifies, but there are also many other indicators. Berkeley’s definition covers all parts of living life, from working to personal life. Personal development has always been important I just became too busy to focus on me. It feels good to feel like I am taking steps in the right direction.

I never thought writing about my situation would make me feel better, but I have found that in just the past weeks I am coping and managing stress a little better. Mostly because I figured out that I need to make time for myself to be ok to tend to my father and his needs. Researching others definition of wellbeing really allowed me to dig deeper into my own situation and apply other factors that I had not previously considered. This helps an individual to easily remember things even in a busy schedule of the day and at the same time remain alert and attentive to new things. Therefore, stress and anxiety related to forgetfulness of important things and lack of understanding of certain concepts is reduced making an individual intellectual and calm and composed even during challenging situations.

Besides, for children’s case, an academic performance has been proved to improve as a result of physical activity (Archer & Garcia, 2014). Research studies have shown biochemical changes in the animals’ brains. The biochemical molecule, which is a brain growth factor cause the multiplication of neurons, vascular endothelial factor of growth causes key growth of blood vessels, and an insulin-like factor of growth is important in angiogenesis process (Konopka, 2015). As such, not only does physical exercise improve the physical look of an individual as a result of increased metabolism and active and more functional brain activities, but also enhances the self-esteem of a person. With improved self-esteem, a person is able to shake off psychological and mental related illnesses. Due to this, it is important to establish and effective was of managing stress however mild it is so that it does not result into any adverse effects.
