Health education professionals are living at a critical time in history. The ever-changing technology implies that health education should use a strategic approach to improve health. For example, the health education profession has developed a credentialing system at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Similarly, the bureau of labor statistics has a job category known by the title health educator (Brown 2013). These initiatives have elevated the reputation of healthcare professionals. However, accreditation has much to do with the policies of individual institutions. These policies determine whether public health practitioners are more credible than health educators. Notably, health-care professionals play a vital role in guiding non-professional providers.
