Document 1

For the past five years, many people have had rumours on the implantation of GPS microchips in a kid’s clothing such that it lies almost beneath the skin. This technology is useful since parents can use it to monitor the geographical position of the child at a particular time. The technology is helpful as it eases retrieval of the child. In contrast, the GPS microchip technology is not very close to the sophistication found in the Hollywood videos. Therefore, the tracking systems in GPS has been regarded as very reliable and effective solution in enhancing the safety of children. 1 Background information on GPS tracker Many countries in the world have used the microchip technology and the GPS tracker in a variety of ways.

For example, tracking of vehicles by recording their location. The device used in tracking can be carried by either a vehicle or the owner. The technologies used include GIS, GPS, RFID and WLAN so that the current position is determined at a specific time (Gibson, 2001). This is where the recorded data for the vehicle is stored inside the tracking unit after which it is transmitted into a database in a central location. This technology is useful since parents can use it to monitor the geographical position of the child at a particular time. Also, it is useful as it eases retrieval of the child. In contrast, the GPS microchip technology is not very close to the sophistication found in the Hollywood videos.

Therefore, the tracking systems in GPS has been regarded as very reliable and effective solution in enhancing the safety of children (Nsanze, 2005). As stated by Thompson (2012), the efficiency of such a tracking system is the simplest in boosting the child safety. The reason is that of the high vulnerability in the harsh situations. Consequently, the children become unsafe from their pedophiles. 3 Significance of the study The research proposal is intended to determine if children should be implanted with the GPS microchip tracker to enhance their retrieval when they are lost. Secondly, the study will determine if children will be safer from their pedophiles after being implanted with the GPS microchip tracker and if the high risks of being harmed will be reduced.

Lastly, the proposal will provide the importance of the new GPS tracking technology in the track of objects which enhance their security. As asserted by Berard, Mentzer, & Nixon (1996), the object to be tracked is fixed with the GPS tracking device plus a receiver that is used to record the information about its location at a specific time. When the signals from the satellite are sent, they are received and processed so that the appropriate data is produced, which is then sent to the owner of the object as a notification. Through that, the owner gets the full information that enhances easy retrieval. For the children, the microchip is implanted into the skin or clothing of the kid. In case the child is lost, the parents are notified the exact place the child is.

Therefore, there is a need for further research. CHAPTER 3: METHODOLOGY 3. 1 Research design The appropriate research design for the study will be an experimental description in which the researcher will be required to describe the techniques and criteria used to gather information. Moreover, the method will mainly emphasize on the technological approaches that govern the implantation and the use of GPS microchip in the skin of the children (Christensen, 2004). This method is appropriate since all the information gathered from secondary sources will be analyzed to answer the questions provided in the first part of the proposal. The GIS software will be used to analyze the data. 5 Pilot study The two small groups will consist of three children in different locations. 6 Data collection procedures For the descriptive approach, the researcher will opt to gather the information from both primary and secondary sources.
