Infectious diseases are also called communicable diseases or transmissible diseases. It can be described as an illness ensuing from an infection. Due to the large population in schools, there is a big demand for health education and preferment program for infection control. If not done, learners will be exposed to high rates of infection transmission. A good health promotion program is supposed to be cost effective for efficiency. Some of the ways in which diseases are spread include: physical connection with an ill person through sexual intercourse, (HIV, gonorrhea), oral transmission (hepatitis A), droplets (influenza, TB) or touch (Staphylococcus). The second way is through contact with a contaminated surface or object (Norwalk virus), food (salmonella), blood (HIV, hepatitis B) or water (cholera).

Thirdly, is through bites from insects capable of transmitting the disease. For instance bites by mosquito and flea which can cause malaria and plagues consecutively. Lastly, infectious illnesses can be transmitted through travel in the air for instance tuberculosis and measles. Communicable diseases have been viewed to result in absentia in classrooms. Other factors include lack of concentration and even death. To achieve full control of infections in schools, the world need to begin focusing on more vulnerable localities and age groups. Communicable diseases must be taken great attention since they damage they cause is immense. The fight towards control of infection in schools should be given priority globally. Developing Informative, Educative and Communicative materials such as posters is also another intervention.

These posters will then be placed strategically along the school paths and in school lecture rooms so that they may easily reach the target population. This posters should contain detailed information related to causative agents, ways of transmission and also control measures of communicable diseases. Organizing awareness programs on transmission of communicable diseases through Anti-infection Clubs. This will be done by forming anti-infection clubs in the school and encourage all students to be part of the clubs. It will also abate the range of infectious diseases hence contributing to better health in the larger society. Teaching learners to keep their body and teeth clean will help in building self-esteem. If all these interventions are properly looked into, the desired outcome will automatically be achieved.

Conclusion Health education and promotion programs are common and this spells help to not only the affected individual but also the nation at large.
