The issue of harassment did not start at work but began at home. In the early days, men had the permission to harass ladies taken to be a disciplinary factor. At that time, when a woman or a girl did a wrong thing, it was the role of the men to intimidate them by harassing which made them change the adverse actions. The behavior became usual with time, and after women became educated and most got employed, the men in the workplace continued with the earlier practice though nowadays, the men harass women not because they want to correct them but because they want to make them feel inferior. The most likely reason for this is because women have come up and they are developing and doing things that were believed to be men's which makes the men jealous and the only way to bring them down is by sexually harassing them as it discriminates. Introduction With the rise of the challenge, several authors have addressed the issue with the aim to manage this wring action. The essay aims to discuss how sexual harassment could be managed in the country, basing the paper on Gretchen Carlson, Mary Boland authors and the course book by Andrew Durbin. The paper describes the writing done by Carlson who describes the issue of sexual harassment being common in the workplace, and since she was once a victim, she decided to air out the issue, after which women approached her describing their cases with the behavior.

The author aims to make the issue known by the public that sexual harassment has increased in workplaces where women suffer. Boland also comes to attempt describing the solution to the issue. She added that when she decided to air the issue out, many women narrated to her of how they were intimidated sexually which led to her saying that it was enough, and actions had to be taken to stop the behavior. One of the themes that the author discusses is the aspect of silence and forced arbitration. The society handles sexual harassment as an aspect that is too secretive to talk out. The people who are assaulted, therefore, ends in two options; silence or forced arbitration. By going silence means that the person leaves the job and do not explain what happened to them.

Only 20% of the cases filed are discussed. The rest are left out which leads to most workers not reporting the case. One of the major effects of sexual harassment is that it affects the psychological part of the victim. Therefore, they do not feel encouraged to report such cases. The platform to deal with the issue should, therefore, be simple as the action taken against them is serious. Also, the men ought to support the men as they demonstrate against the act. There are times when women with courage raise the issues at the workplace, and where the men hunting them are in bigger positions in the organization, the ladies are fired. The reasons given for firing do not even relate, to the sexual harassment as the leaders claim that the ladies are not effective at work.

This situation happened to Gretchen Carlson where she was fired after showing the videotape concerning president Trump Acts on sexual harassment. At such points, the women do not get the chance to prevent the leadership from eliminating them, but if the other men came in the women would not be easily fired. In doing this, three things are expected. One is in training. During the training, the workers should be told about the problem and the causes (Dublin 2009). For example, the cause could be that only the men are placed at the top management positions which give them a chance to harass the ladies. As a result, the women as well should be given the high posts for them to be able to handle the issue. of the codes of the corporation.

The code says that the organization would be held responsible in case an employee is sexually harassed during their daily duties in the company. The code is also called vicarious liability. The employer is held responsible whether they were aware when the behavior was taking place. Though the Act does not deal with sexual harassment solely, it is part of discrimination in the workplace which the Act has emphasized on. This is helpful because the problem is solved internally. However, where the leadership does not closely relate with the workers when issues like sexual harassment come up, the workers may report to courts where the organization suffers, as have been discussed that the management becomes responsible. Apart from that, the book has discussed communication. This is where information is passed from one person to the other.

The leadership in the working areas should ensure that information flows easily from the management to the workers and vice versa. The other importance of communication is that workers know what they should do, what they should avoid and the results of some actions. This is where education and training discussed by the former authors come in. To some men, they sexually harass women at the workplace because they do not know how serious the issue is when reaches the authority. Communication is therefore helpful in assisting them to understand the crime, and therefore avoid. Informing them that the organization could be held responsible and they end up losing their jobs or face the law could effectively help. It is important to work with others because one cannot survive alone. The other aspect that I have learned is on raising problems whenever issues are not smooth.

The same way Gretchen Carlson realized that sexual harassment at the workplace was an issue, and she did not fear to risk her job, is the same way people should do. This reminded me off sometimes when my dad was strict about us watching the television because he wanted us to study the whole time. However, I realized that lack of play was making me dull.
