The prevention and control of the infection is for the safety and well-being of visitors, staff and the patients. A program is designed in each health care facility to detect and lessen the risk of infection transmission and acquisition among the staffs, visitors, and patients (Am 2002). In the Saudi Arabian Kingdom, the most leading cause of mortality and morbidity is the infectious diseases but most of the diseases are really treatable and preventable (Am 2002). Therefore, measures should be taken to control and prevent the infections. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, infection control and prevention is a young field but it is rapidly growing.

Environmental Health and Occupational Health and Safety Section. This sections mission is to promote the productivity and health of the employees of NGHA KAMC. They will achieve this mission by managing and preventing environmental and occupational illness, disabilities and injuries. Hospital Infection Control Section. The mission of this section is to promote the safety of the patients by minimizing the risk of transmitting and acquiring infections. These tools are part of the system of Infection Prevention and Control Department. System Processes Health care service provision in Saudi Arabia is provided by both on the public sector and also in the private sector. The government uses the infection control and prevention department system to deliver its services to the public. The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has put more effort to improve this healthcare services to its people.

Its efforts have both positively and negatively affected the health care services in the kingdom. • Point of care testing and injection safety is provided by the department.
