Therefore, all parents need to learn about all the styles that are involved and know which one to use. In the year 1833 and 1844, laws were written in English to reduce the rates of child labor. However, in 1900 there were still about 1. million child laborers in the United States. Authoritarian behavior mainly involves rules and order. Most parents deal with their children by ordering them around without even having room for discussion. If kids fail to follow the rules and orders as set by their parents, severe punishment is given. In this kind of parenting, there is usually no discussion between the child and the parent concerning anything. The parent is not tolerant of bad behaviors of the kids and is very insensitive to the changes happening in the kid's life (Harrist, 2013). There is usually role equality of the parties and personal freedom. It includes give and take discussions, high responsiveness, independent thinking, highly creative, and manipulative thinking.

The parenting style that each parent chooses to use is dependent on the goals he/she has and the view he has on the perfect child. Parenting has its pros and cons. We are in a different era, and so everything has changed. The new technology and innovations have contributed to the change. The age of the internet has led to whole new pros and cons. Social media has increased connection with special ones. Children can share photos and videos of themselves. Uneducated kids rush to the streets and become borrowers. All the kids do is live by the mercy of others. If they lack food, they engage themselves in crimes such as stealing to earn something for food.

Some parents opt to commit suicide when life becomes too difficult for them to handle. Kids are left as orphans and are taken to children's home where they are raised. When kids are of age or go to school, they get to learn their parent's weakness and change their attitude towards them. They become disobedient to their parents and cannot listen to what they say. This kind of parents eventually give up on parenting and let their kids go. Other children become hostile to their parents and even beat them. Some parents do not give up; instead, they take their children to the children's court, and the fight begins from there. The big question is whether the parents are ready to learn and will the change be visible. References Carlson, J.
