Also, the nurses play a major role in reducing infection rate, preventing medical faults as well as facilitating the transition of the patients from the hospitals to their homes. Moreover, the nurses are involved in the efforts to control infections by reducing or eliminating bloodstream infections. Some of the ways through which the nurses prevent medical errors is by asking physicians to write clear orders, educating the patients and reconciling the medications independently (Puetz, 2013). Changes I Would Make In My Practice to Meet the Goals of the IOM Report There are several changes that I would make in my practice to meet the goals of the 2010 IOM report.
