Below are a number of concepts which are associated with the oppression as a theory. Discrimination This refers to a number of negative stereotypes believes in different people with a given characteristic such as gender and skin color. Normally discrimination is characterized by different experiences of unfairness by people, under-representation of people as well as denial of opportunities (Carolyn and Anne 2009). Sometimes it is possible for discrimination to arise because of ignorance. For instance, an organization can happen to be unaware of different aids meant to assist disabled people. Privileges In the context of racial discrimination, privilege refers to a form of sociopolitical immunity which is possessed by a certain group within the community over other groups and contains a number of benefits in terms of society.

It is believed that those people who have privileges over race gender or sexuality happen to be unaware of the privileges their respective power holds. It is through these inequalities that cause maltreatment leading to internalized oppression. Social justice Social justice is mostly concerned with what people deserve basing on their observation of the laws and constraint which are agreed within the society. Fairness is a product of social justice whereby it states that punishment, for instance, should be equal to the crime committed. We are all aware of a number of situations in history whereby people turned against the minority group within the country. For instance, the former slaves living in the US south, American Indian and other various immigrant groups.

However, it is important to note that the passage of discriminatory legislation has got a very strong influence in the manner in which certain groups within the community are accepted (Carolyn and Anne 2009). For example, considering the historical situation in South Africa, the white South African children grew in a condition of apartheid whereby at the same time all the black servants had to leave the town before nightfall. Quite related to the same situation is the passage of Jim Crow laws in the US south as well as the segregation in Northern Ireland of school children due to a religious denomination. Due to this combination of differences, some communities became jealous of what could be achieved by the other community casing hatred and thus hostility.

In the course of time some communities wanted to dominate the minority group and in order to do that they had to subject them in a hostile environment consisting of severe punishment as well as killing. Hostility helped the dominating community to rule over the other communities by enforcing different laws as well as denying the minority community some of their rights. It is through hostility that the minority could not demand their rights due to fear of being killed or subjected to harsh environments. Therefore oppression continued within the society being pioneered by the hostility of the dominating community. For instance, they were used as slaves and thus performing heavy tasks for the benefit of the dominating community. Besides that, they were also subjected to harsh form punishment and even murder in some situations.

All this summed up to make the life of the individuals who belonged to the minority community to be quite difficult. With time this caused depression to some of the members of the minority community. As a result, their health could not help in fighting for their rights and thus freedom. However, the government has come with different rights which caused equal employment opportunities within the country resulting to balance in employment opportunities all over the country. The rights ensure a mixture of black and white people whenever a given organization is having interviews promoting equality. Education Education is very crucial in fighting against oppression. This is based on the fact that it is the only place where the mindset of people can be changed.

Education policy should be designed in such a way that it involves different units which cover the issue of oppression. Some of them are prejudice, people who are gender nonconforming and violence against transgender women and men. Albeit all other causative agents of racial oppression being alleviated to certainly extend inequality continue to grow from day to day. Therefore for the theory to work as expected, there is dire need to look for means to end inequality which is the key to the success of the theory Conclusion The theory normally requires us as an individual to be in a position to confront different disparities which exist between our societies. This can be achieved by different methods which include, having anti-discrimination laws, policies involving progressive tax, universal health care as well as government programs such as public education.
