The story plot of this movie begins when Keung comes to the US to attend Uncle Bill’s wedding and helping him transition his store to Elena (Anita Mui). The night before the wedding, 2 sets of gangs were racing outside of Uncle Bill’s house. Knowing that the motorcycles will run over Bill’s wedding car, Keung jumps down from the fire escape ladder in time to distract the driver from damaging for the loaned car for tomorrow’s wedding event.
The market got into a disaster again by the gang because they were looking for Keung. Keung started to date Nancy who was the gang leader’s girlfriend after knowing Keung saved his brother Danny. Tony began to let go of Keung after getting into a fight and knowing Keung was right about living the life of gangsters was wrong. On the other hand, diamonds stolen by the FBI landed on Angelo’s hand. The FBI kidnapped Nancy, Angelo, and Tony in search of the diamonds that Keung later finds in Danny’s cushion. For example, in the scene when Keung enters Uncle Bill’s house, he said “3000 square feet. If I bring it back to HK, I will be set for life”.
Uncle Bill’s phrase symbolizes the American Dream that says “upward social mobility for the family and children”. Keung mistakes his auntie as the Chinese lady (Tina) in the market, but later surprisingly finds out that his auntie is African American. This symbolizes diversity in this movie.
