It is therefore very crucial to do what helps make an organization easy to manage and ensure a significant growth. According to Patrick Lencioni, an American author, “When leaders throughout an organization take an active, genuine interest in the people they manage, when they invest real time to understand employees at a fundamental level, they create a climate for greater morale, loyalty, and, yes, growth” (Patrick Lencioni). Communication as an important tool in steering an organization basically means conveying relevant information within and outside the organization (Rogala, & Białowąs, 2016). Despite passing information within an organization, communication is as well meant to motivate employees, build up their energy towards work and ensure efficiency in their daily routine duties (Rogala, & Białowąs, 2016).

An effective communication is normally aimed at tracking real time changes in consumer taste and preferences, stock holder equity and competitor development and strategy. This also allows room for strategic and critical thinking about the use of communication in solving organizational problems or challenges (Tripathi, 2009). Corporate communication mainly focuses on the organization as a unit and its presentation to key stakeholders, both internally and externally (Tripathi, 2009). Management communications are most technically on writing presentational and communication skills and their focus is largely restricted to interpersonal situations. Communication skills can not only be regarded as the ability to convey information and ideas to others but also handling information and ideas received from them (Griffin, 2012). Communication sits at the core of every business activity; it acts as a cross-linking thread between the actions of an individual or organization and its desired or outlined objectives to be achieved (Benowitz, & Cliffs Notes, 2001).

This involves paying attention, understanding and interpreting facts appropriately (Benowitz, & Cliffs Notes, 2001). Performance feedback for employees should at all time be unprejudiced and targeting the goals, and interrogative in order to ensure understanding of the feedback (Benowitz, & Cliffs Notes, 2001). Besides, written communication skill is more advantageous as it preserves records for follow up (Benowitz, & Cliffs Notes, 2001). However, dispatching the same message to a larger group of people may expensive if written forms are used. Thus this is a pitfall in ensuring effectual communication. Normally, when the quantity of information to be disseminated to various parties within and outside the organization is too huge, the communication process might be delayed or at times fail completely when there are no sufficient resources to facilitate the process.

This may paralyze the various business activities and timeliness of service delivery. Employees trust is a determining factor on what information will be put into account. Lack of trust in the conveyer of or the information itself may lessen its importance. Additionally, it must be understood that employees greatly rely on managers, and in the event that a manager misinterprets a piece of information, such information will be rendered void or meaningless. Interpersonal communication is important as it helps employees explore whether an organization trusts, respects or values them. It is also linked to leadership potential and enables one to blend in teamwork setups. Interpersonal communication skills are dependent on one’s attitudes, personal attributes or qualities, habits and their social graces (Krizan, 2011).

These are the major aspects that determine how productive an employee would be and also show how one can relate to outsiders or fellow coworkers harmoniously and productively to ensure attainment of business goals/objectives. Interpersonal communication is important as it helps employees explore whether an organization trusts, respects or values them. An effective written message should be carefully formulated to enhance its clarity so as to avoid misconception of information. Before official publication, any written message should undergo thorough analysis, selection, review and organization of ideas (Acker, & Defense Systems Management College, 1992). The decision to use written communication usually depends on the functional manager’s preferences. Notably, proper documentation is important if written communication is used as this helps for future reference (Acker, & Defense Systems Management College, 1992).

Approaches for Engaging an Audience during a Presentation and Encouraging Active Listening Effectual listening aids in building relationships, solving differences/challenges, ensuring understanding, resolving misunderstandings and enhance accurate interpretation of an information (Dwyer, 2012). Conflicts arising from beliefs and values are normally very difficult to resolve due to their deep rootedness (Krizan, 2011). In the event of conflict, options that can be employed include; accommodation, compromise, overpowers, and collaborates (Krizan, 2011). Overpower is an effective approach in case of emergency or when the issue is more important than the individual. Finally, collaboration approach requires people to work together in arriving at a solution to a conflict in a manner that both parties feel satisfied (Krizan, 2011).
