The overall idea, in this case, is that the family environment, the treatment that the child receives especially if it is characterized by mistreatment and violations. Similarly, as a positive environment can be an essential ground for the growth of law-abiding citizens in future, the poor and harsh environment can trigger criminal activities in a child and lead them into becoming criminals in future. According to the life-course theory attributes, one of the concepts that are studied is the effect of child upbringing on their future behavior. In this case, the criminal activities can be traced back to the childhood. Family life Family is the primary influence on an individual attribute. Bullying and mistreatment can drive the child into further developing a lone aspect in them and obsession with violence.

The only way that these children could grow to believe can solve the problem in their life is through force. To avoid the pin of relieving the bullying and the violation daily, the children may choose to terminate the bullies. This would lead them into developing into a serial killer who is oriented on killing bullies. The above can so result in developmental antisocial behaviors which lead the children into obsessions that can somehow be violent. In case this works, and the bullying stops, the child would be made to understand that the only way he can address such issues as bullying is to approach it is using violence. Killing becomes a way of achieving the goal the child/now an adult has.

This results in the reaction of a serial killer. Educational background Education is part of children’s life. Parents take this chance to have their children increase their knowledge to make them significant members of the society. Education environment also offers another critical factor to play with the child. The presence of peers who can be bullies to the character would impact on them and how they start to develop their revenge instincts. The outcome of these is the child would be faced with methods that he can use to revenge, and increased violation form the peers. Peer relations The violent behaviors that serial killers have can be attributed mostly to the peers and mental conditions that warrant this. Psychopathy is one attribute that fits in all cases of serial killers.

Most serial killers could not stand out in their earlier life and therefore the ability to kill, and torture becomes the only way they could control their victims. This becomes addictive, and they must kill frequency to satisfy their desire to do so. Mitigations Mitigating the upbringing of an individual who would end up being a serial killer can be achieved through the original approach which is the family. The family has the greatest significance in shaping the child into becoming the positive member of the community. However as seen above, a failure in the family doing this can affect the outcome of the child (Piquero, 2008). This can, however, be avoided by mitigating the adverse effects of this social factor with a positive contribution from the society.
