The construction of this road will reduce the time taken to travel between Salem and Walnut Grove from 1 hour to 45 minutes. The development of this road has left Timothy Rodger who is the president as well as the CEO of Scarlet hospital in a dilemma. Timothy is concerned that the construction of this road will reduce the patient population of Scarlet Hospital because of improved access to Salem where they are four major health centers. Scarlet Hospital was already prepared to compete with Salem before the improvement often highway resulted in the upgrade of delivery of health care services. One of the ways that the hospital was prepared is by merging with another health center so that could reduce the competition.

This issue will help these executives to come up with strategies that will be used to deal with these problems. As a result, the health care facility will be able to retain its clients after it has gone through the challenges. The Scarlet Hospital can use the Porter's five forces and SWOT analysis to protect its market share by reducing the chances of its clients moving to other health centers in Salem. While using Porter's Five Forces, the health center will have to look at competitive rivalry first (Dobbs 2014). The Scarlet health center will have to identify its major competitors, how many they are and what are their strengths. As a result, Scarlet health center will have to look for strong as well as a durable barrier that will prevent new entities from entering the market (Yunna, & Yisheng, 2014).

SWOT analysis is the other tool that can be used by the Scarlet Hospital to make a decision that will reduce its chances of losing its clients to other health facilities (Grant 2016). First, the hospital has to identify its strengths and focus on them. For instance, if the Scarlet Hospital is known for providing a unique health care service which is not in any other health facility, it should focus on that so that it can maintain its customers. The second element is that Scarlet hospital should identify its weakness and develop ways that can be implemented to mitigate them. Learning and feedback is the other importance of the balanced scorecard in the sense that it will help the health executives to get information from the customers concerning the services that it provides.

Offensive marketing strategy are measures that a company will develop to target the competitor directly so that they can capture a share of the market (Piercy 2014). One of the measures that can be used is communication. The health center can develop a channel of communication that will make it easy to interact within it consumers. The channel of communication developed should not be familiar with other companies. The company should the colors that will make it easy to capture the attention of various individual.
