The business organization uses IT-systems to conduct various operations. For instance, firms employ IT-systems such as spreadsheet, word processing, relational database technology, and networking of computer resources improves the organization operations, enhance customer service delivery, improves communication, manages inventory and data, and increase productivity (Tredinnick & Laybats, 2018). Although, as firms continue to increase their investments in and dependency on IT resources, they also encounter numerous IT-related challenges. This research paper aims to investigate and analyze the most significant IT-related issues facing business organization today. The purpose of the study We are well aware that Information Technology is a significant and integral part of every business organization and plays an essential role in accelerating business growth (Shah, & Vaswani, 2016). The Importance of IT to business organizations For the past few decades, there has been a dramatic advancement in information technology with new capabilities, features, and advanced data processing speed (Tajuddin & Abdullah, 2017).

Today, IT systems have significantly shifted from the technical or financial perspective to business-oriented. It is difficult to overstate the importance of information technology in today’s business climate (Tajuddin & Abdullah, 2017). Information technology is now integral to the way organizations operate as they use automated systems to communicate, manage inventory and data, and enhances customer relationship (Tajuddin & Abdullah, 2017). IT has replaced the conventional modes of business with the main focus being on increasing firms’ output and efficiency. Information Security and Privacy issues Information security and privacy are some the significant IT-related issues that nearly all businesses encounter today (Shah, & Vaswani, 2016). They define information security as the ability to protect the organization’s data and information from any internal or external threat such as hackers and unauthorized personnel (Shah, & Vaswani, 2016).

The business organization uses IT-systems to protect financial data, store and share vital data and information to required individuals. However, developing a holistic, robust and secure IT infrastructure which minimizes institutional exposure to information security threats is the most challenging IT-related problem most firms face today (Shah, & Vaswani, 2016). Business faces the challenge of protecting the transaction, a partner, a customer, and the employees’ data. Slow network and internet connection issues Slow network and internet connectively are other common IT issues businesses face. Often, some programs can cause long wait and slow-moving internet dramatically hijack business efficiency, productivity and lead to downtime- a serious issue that can result to customers’ dissatisfaction, employees’ frustration and potential lost business (Tajuddin & Abdullah, 2017). Viruses and spyware are two common contributors to sluggish internet service.

They suggest that one way to improve network and internet connection is to increase bandwidth (Tajuddin & Abdullah, 2017). Software and Hardware issues Working with older IT equipment hinders the business flexibility or horsepower to deliver capabilities (Miller & Mick, 2017). Data management refers to protecting, controlling and facilitating access to data promptly. It involves developing data architecture, practices and procedure to handle data in an organization. However, the most organization faces the challenge of developing data architecture to store and manipulate a large amount of data uniformly, efficiently and timely. Since the use of high-quality data plays a vital role in an organization for improving operations and decision making, it is, therefore, significant for firms to develop centralized data management strategies such as cloud computing (Tajuddin & Abdullah, 2017).
