According to this verse, a place humans desire to enter is the heavens. According to Greeley, the Roman Catholics seek to purify their souls to prepare themselves for heavenly life. The films The Devil Wears Prada, Flatliners, In Bruges, and City of Angels all give instances where the protagonists experience changes in their lives. Film Analysis Flatliners In the Flatliners, Courtney, Marlo, Jamie, and Sophia partake the “flatline” experiments whereby they experience surreal out-of-body moments. After experiencing a moment of “death,” they each find themselves doing extraordinary things, including performing exemplary in their lines of duty and showing remorse for their past sins (Bergesen & Greeley 87). Finally, Seth takes an unusual step of becoming visible to Meg, changing from imperceptible spirit to a mortal and mysterious stranger.
Seth symbolised protection (Durkheim 23), although this role changes when he picks a mortal life. In Bruges In Bruges, Ray unintentionally kills a boy in his first assignment.
