Most surprisingly, even the management which is tasked with the function of enforcing the organizational policies and procedures, sometimes it is inspired to go against the very rules that it has initiated. It is imperative to note that, any lawbreaker has an exit strategy in case they are caught by the tough hand of the law. Therefore, the people involved in undercutting of the conventional processes collude with the police to ensure that they are not punished. The collusion promotes an organized and well-coordinated crime where the watchdog and the lawbreaker lie in the same camp. This paper is an argumentative research which seeks answer the research question; does organizational deviance exist within the police force? The research question is aimed at expounding the research topic which seeks to link organizational deviance and the misconduct with the police force.

Moreover, the case of police deviance is manifested by selective granting of justice where a criminal investigation is executed on a selective basis (Donner & Jennings 2014). Cases of police partnering in criminal activities such bank robbery are rampant in the world, majorly as accomplices or in distortion of evidence. The police have multiple ways of facilitating crimes. One major way is through collaboration in the execution of crimes by issuing firearms which gangsters use for criminal activities (Donner & Jennings 2014). Moreover, police use avoidance technique where they allow criminals to execute their activities by boycotting duty and staging malicious investigations afterward to blindfold the public. However, such cases occur because of poor professional ethics among the police force which instead of focusing on their professional mandate they deviate from their professional role of enforcing law and order.

Factors leading to police deviance There are various factors which promote organizational deviance among the police hence compromising their morals and abandoning their duty of care. Some of these factors include; pressure from influential people, poor working conditions, and poor remuneration. To begin with, the pressure from influential people is a key force which force police to compromise toward their interest (Lee et al. The police force is believed to be an arm of the government and sides with the government in most cases. The poor conditions of living mostly for police in poorly furnished government quarters particularly in most developed countries, lead to losing motivation for adhering to a moral code of operation (Lee et al.
