However, there are many people who do not feel like they belong to the section that they are in. These people are commonly known as transgender, struggling every day with feelings of being out of place (Singh 23). When someone identifies themselves as being transgender, it means they feel that their biological gender does not match with their psychological gender. A large portion of the society is unknowingly misinformed about this group of people, and many believe that transgender individuals are always mistreated and discriminated. However, arguments claiming that there is widespread discrimination against transgender people are unsupported. This paper points out the weaknesses of the argument that there are widespread anti-transgender biases. The proponents of the argument claim that, in the United States and other parts of the world, transgender people are experiencing rampant discrimination in all areas of life. The alleged discrimination and mistreatment occur through harassment, insults, hatred, violence intolerance and denial of basic rights. The argument also professes that discriminatory practices against transgender individuals occurs not only at family levels but also in the issuance of official identity documents, education, health care, employment, housing, legal sector and public accommodations among other areas. However, this paper maintains that there is little or no discrimination against transgender individuals in the United States and other parts of the world. Department of Education filed a statement of interest in support of the student. Also, schools across the United States have strict regulations against the bullying, harassment, or mistreatment of transgender students. Another point of the argument is on the employability of transgender people. The argument for the existence of widespread anti-transgender biases claims that transgender people in the United States face many complex obstacles in their endeavor to get employment and earn a living.
