This paper seeks to examine the changes brought by the biological aging in human beings. It will focus on the physical, functional and social aspects as attributed by the aging process. It will finally present three sample of interviews administered in the form of questionnaire to individuals of 50 years and above. Phases of aging The three phases of aging are the young-old, middle-old and old-old. The elderly people are often lumped together, putting everyone over the age of 65 as old which should not be the case (Mehrabani and Ganjifar, 2018). Aging is associated with hearing problem as many adults develops complications in hearing high pitched voices or sounds and hardship in hearing in busy or noisy places. • Weight gain As one grows older he or she gains weight considerably. This is because as one becomes older, the level of physical activity reduces, this slows the metabolism rate, which is contributing directly to weight gaining (Arensberg, 2018). • Bones, Muscle and Joints The bones size and density shrinks as we grow older (Arensberg, 2018). Few people become much shorter while others are prone to fractures which take time and are hard to heal. The tendon, muscle and joint may lose strength and flexibility making an individual not to be in a position to perform certain duties(Arensberg, 2018). • Brain and nervous system As people grow old, there is a natural loss of cells (Uchmanowicz, et al.

Losing of cells also happens in the brain of an individual thus affecting a couple of processes and body functionality. As the brain losses more cells, it responds to this by multiplying the number of connections between cells to ensure that the brain is not damaged or affected in any way thus preserving the brain. Through increasing the number of connections between cells to aid in the preservation of the brain, the rate of reflex actions slows down thus making which results in destruction and finally disfigure coordination activities which are fundamental for proper function of other organs of the body. Aging process in human beings has adverse effect on the functionality and physical aspects of the body (Uchmanowicz, et al. This calls for special attention from the young generation who provide necessary and needed support which can be financial or emotional support.
