AI Artificial Intelligence Movie Review

I. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE MOVIE: This movie is set in the future when humanity is threatened by its advanced progress in the robotics industry. David is the robotic boy made to be able to experience love. He is the prototype and he is given to a family (the Swinton family) where the couple has a son, Martin, who is in what they think is an irreversible coma. David and his mother, Monica, kick it off to a very rough start after which they bond. is leading us to. In the movie, the robotic boy, David only yearns for love from his mother. That begs the question; at what point do we start making emotional connections with these things we are manufacturing? The movie addresses these questions in a manner that is both scary and interesting.

The same way we are scared of human extinction but still push the artificial intelligence buttons hard always curious of where it will lead us. Even though the movie got some things wrong like absence of the internet we know today, it lived up to so many standards. It is just a matter of time before we are able to so I would say this is the most feasible technology in the movie. If nothing blocks the research, we are definitely headed there. ESSAY QUESTIONS/PROMPTS: What is different between David and typical Mechas? In your opinion, is this difference ethical? Mechanical androids (mechas) are just robots programmed to do what they are told. It is preprogramming to make them do one thing basically forever.

Gigolo Joe is a perfect example. If you think about it, it is kind of politically correct. I mean, what kind of world will it be if all robots are for serious jobs like teaching quantum physics? The society has to be complete. As some teach us relativity, others have to make us feel good. Initially, Monica has a negative attitude towards David. Why do you think this is? How does her attitude towards David change? How would you personally handle the situation? When Monica and Henry are chosen to be David’s parents, it is kind of obvious how she reacted. I have very legitimate concerns like what if it malfunctions and turns on me? I love my life and I would not want to put myself in such a situation unless my life depended on it.

There are different types of Mechas in this movie. Explain how mechas are different from a regular "robot" or "automated system". Discuss the pros/cons of the different types of Mechas (other than David). What are there purposes/why were they created? Are they useful? Is it ethical to create these types of Mechas? Mechas are basically regular robots improved for efficiency at a particular task. In fact they have no information on their predecessors and have to dig up old creatures to understand them just two thousand years later which is also disturbing. These mechas are useful for the purposes they were created for. Teddy is a very efficient pet bear and Gigolo Joe is a fine prostitute, until he is framed for murdering Samantha, her client murdered by her husband on finding out.

The society will always struggle with the discussions on morals, but humanity will continue creating “robots for special duties”. Right now, there are sex toys out there that look like these mechas, just not as good. Some serious self-aware artificial intelligence systems agreeing built right now and may just be the stepping stone to go further up. What we know as consciousness or even free will of robots as is in the movie is something that humanity today can only dream of, as research continues. It is very important to note that organ transplants are slowly turning us humans into mechanical systems. If the trend continues, we will be able to replace the organs in our body with organs from factories except our brains.
