International business has grown in importance leading to familiarization of world-class products like Cadbury, Dell, Apple, HP, Toyota, Nokia, Coca-cola and many more to anyone who lives anywhere across the globe whether in Africa, Asia, Australia or Europe. The impact of globalization has made new brands seem to be born global. This paper chooses to discuss Apple Inc – especially its Smartphone product in order to give a dip understanding of the literature surrounding international business as well as organizational factors.

Currently its sources and assemblies its product abroad as well as markets the products in more than 140 countries. By manufacturing parts international, Apple has seen a reduction in cost of production therefore shifting focus in technological innovation, and better means of penetrating new economies (Hill, 2013). However, this prosperity is accompanied by risk and also prior success does not prove future relevance. For instance Apple can be particularly said that it is well exposed to China market since majority of its manufacturing and sourcing is done there, yet its penetration to the market is very low. At this point, consumer’s willingness to buy Apple product is still limited as its product are unobtainable especially for people living in upcoming economies. Apple has a very clear strategy which is utilized the increased technological dependence as well as convenience of connectivity of computing power over internet. It definitely has strength in many perspectives, though what makes it stand out is innovation and integration of hardware and software, its retail distribution media, and its successive use of outsourcing supply chain. Apple’s strength is its innovation capability, hence can disrupt the tech market. Among the many innovation of Apple inc include touch screen phones, mp3 players and tablet which most companies finds problem to emulating. For instance it has invested a great amount of money via prepayments to sapphire company for screen innovations.

Apple starts to invest and innovate at component stage in which it contracts companies which it outfits new tech. This is sensible for Apple to focus on its main competence of design and integration, as well as partnering with specialist. When it needs a specification it pulls together the partners effort and its effort to get the component. Eventually it ends up with a high quality product that bears the effort of multiple fields and leading technology. For instance the year AT&T introduced iPhone to its customers it almost doubled its sales from $63 billion to $119 billion. In as much as the Apple maintains its innovation mantle its brand will still be buyable for the foreseeable future. At this point its worth realizing that Apple’s strength are its weaknesses.
